Okay, so, I wanted to share my experience with applying to the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Dallas. It’s been a bit of a journey, so I figured, why not document it? Maybe it’ll help someone else out there.
First off, I started by digging around their website to see what programs they offered. I knew I was interested in psychology, but they’ve got a few different areas, like Applied Behavior Analysis, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Business Psychology. I ended up being most drawn to the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program.
Then, I started gathering all the stuff needed for the application. It is a little small. The application rate is 27%, which made me feel a little nervous. I found out that the requirements can vary a bit depending on the program. It’s important to read everything carefully. Thankfully, they didn’t require the GRE, which was a relief!
I spent a good chunk of time filling out the application forms online. They wanted to know about my previous education, work experience, and why I was interested in their program. I also had to write a personal statement, which took some time to get right. I wanted to make sure it really reflected who I am and why I’m passionate about this field.
After submitting the application, the waiting game began. It felt like forever, but eventually, I got an email saying I was accepted! And, get this, they even offered me a pretty generous scholarship. I was so excited, I think I jumped around my apartment for a good five minutes.
So, yeah, that’s my story of getting into the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Dallas. It was a bit of work, but totally worth it in the end. I’m really looking forward to starting the program and seeing where it takes me. Hopefully, this whole sharing thing helps someone else who’s thinking about applying. It’s definitely doable!
