Okay, so, I got into this whole tarot card thing a while back, and I thought I’d share my little journey with you guys. It all started when I was just browsing online and stumbled upon some stuff about tarot reading. It looked pretty interesting, and I figured, why not give it a shot?

First thing I did was grab a deck. I just picked one that caught my eye online – nothing fancy, just a basic Rider-Waite deck ’cause I saw it recommended for beginners. Once the cards arrived, I was pretty excited to get started.
Next up, I started reading up on what each card means. I mean, there are tons of websites and books out there, so I just started with the basics. The Fool card, for example, I learned is all about new beginnings and unlimited possibilities, which sounded pretty cool. It’s number zero, so it has no limits, which I think is a great way to start a journey, right?
After getting a feel for the card meanings, I started doing some simple readings for myself. I’d just shuffle the deck, focus on a question I had, and pull a few cards. I started with one-card pulls, just to keep things simple. It was a bit tricky at first, trying to connect the card meanings to my questions, but I just tried to go with my gut feeling.
Now, I know some people think you need to be psychic or something to read tarot, but honestly, I don’t think that’s true. For me, it’s more about being open-minded and tapping into my own intuition. I just try to look at the symbols on the cards and see what they make me think about in relation to my question.

I also found out that some people don’t believe in tarot because it’s not mentioned in the Bible. Apparently, tarot came way after the Bible, so it’s not like it’s specifically forbidden. But the Bible does warn against fortune-telling, so I guess it depends on how you look at it.
Anyway, I kept practicing. I’d do readings for myself whenever I felt like it – sometimes about big stuff, sometimes just for fun. And you know what? I actually started getting better at it. My interpretations started making more sense, and I felt like I was really connecting with the cards.
Here are some things I found helpful during my practice
- Start Simple: Like I said, I started with one-card pulls and slowly worked my way up to more complex spreads.
- Trust Your Gut: This is a big one. Don’t overthink it. Just go with what feels right when you look at the cards.
- Keep a Journal: I started writing down my readings and how I interpreted them. It’s really helpful to look back and see how my understanding has grown.
- Don’t Be Afraid to Be Wrong: Sometimes my interpretations were way off, and that’s okay. It’s all part of the learning process.
So yeah, that’s my little tarot journey so far. It’s been a fun and insightful experience. I’m definitely not a pro, but I’m enjoying the process of learning and connecting with my intuition. If you’re thinking about trying it out, I say go for it! Just be open-minded, patient, and have fun with it.
