Today, I am gonna talk about how I started with tarot cards. I’ve always been curious about tarot reading and all that stuff, but I never really got into it until recently. A few weeks ago, I finally decided to just do it and bought my first deck of tarot cards online.
When the package arrived, I was so excited to open it. I carefully unpacked the box and held the deck in my hands for the first time. It felt kind of special, like I was holding something with a hidden power or something. I took some time just looking at the cards, feeling their texture, and getting a sense of their energy. The cards felt welcoming and I felt an immediate connection to them.
Next, I spent some time shuffling the cards and getting familiar with them. The deck comes with a little guidebook, and honestly it is quite helpful. I did read through it to understand the basic meanings of each card. Each card has such intricate details and symbolism.
- The Fool: I learned that The Fool is the first card of the Major Arcana and is numbered zero. People said it is the most influential, positive, and powerful one indicating new beginnings.
- The Magician: This one’s all about willpower and using your abilities to manifest your desires.
- The High Priestess: She represents intuition, mystery, and the subconscious mind.
I also tried out a few simple spreads, like the basic three-card spread, to see how the cards interact with each other. It is simple to follow. I just drew three cards, placed them in a row from left to right and flipped them over. The first time, I got The Fool, The Magician, and The High Priestess. At first, I consulted the guidebook to understand their individual meanings. However, I also took a moment to close my eyes, take a deep breath, and really tune into what the cards were saying to me intuitively. It was a totally different experience! I started feeling things and getting messages that weren’t in the guidebook. It was like my intuition was kicking in, and I was connecting with the cards on a deeper level. Then I spent some time interpreting the cards based on my intuition and the guidebook’s explanations.
Trying it Out
After practicing a bit, I decided to do a reading for myself. I asked a specific question about my career path, shuffled the cards, and laid out a Celtic Cross spread. This spread is a bit more complex, but it gives a really in-depth look at a situation. I was nervous at first, but I just focused on my question and trusted the process. I laid out the ten cards as the guidebook said. Then I flipped them over one by one. After consulting the guidebook, I also rely on my intuition more. It took some time to carefully analyze each card and its meaning.
The reading was surprisingly accurate and gave me a lot of insight into my situation. It was a little scary how much the cards seemed to know about what was going on in my life. The reading helped me feel more confident about my decisions and gave me some new perspectives to consider. It was a pretty powerful experience.
I’ve been practicing tarot reading almost every day since then, and I’m really enjoying it. Some days the readings are spot on, other days they’re a bit off. But it’s all part of the learning process. Overall, starting with tarot cards has been an amazing journey. It’s helped me tap into my intuition, gain clarity on different aspects of my life, and just have some fun exploring this mystical practice. I’m excited to keep learning and see where this journey takes me. I am no expert, but I love sharing my experience. It feels great to share what I have learned.
