Okay, so I was really trying to figure out what schools are good for someone who wants to get into criminal psychology. It’s a pretty specific field, and you gotta make sure you pick the right place to study, right?
So, I started by just digging around, seeing what info I could gather. I mean, I wanted to know what a criminal psychology major actually learns and what kind of classes they take. These two were highlighted as top-notch for criminal psychology programs. I found out Maryville offers a related program, and John Jay, being all about criminal justice, has some great options too. It’s cool to see colleges really focusing on this stuff.
But I didn’t just stop at the U.S. I was curious about what’s out there in other countries, too. I found out that the Netherlands is pretty progressive when it comes to forensic psychology. Maastricht University, for instance, has specific programs in this area. And Germany? They’ve got some great psychology programs as well.

It’s not just about the U.S. The Netherlands, with places like Maastricht University, is doing some forward-thinking stuff in forensic psychology. Germany’s also got a strong rep for psychology programs. It’s good to have options, even if you’re thinking of going abroad.
I also came across Louisiana State University. They offer an online bachelor’s degree, which I thought was pretty cool. It’s good to have options, especially if you can’t actually go to the campus.
After all this searching, I started to make a list of what I need to look for in a good program. Like, it’s not just about the name of the school. You gotta see if they really focus on the criminal side of psychology, if they do a lot of research, and what their graduates end up doing. It’s a lot to think about. Then I compiled a list of the schools I mentioned and started comparing them based on what I found out. I looked at their program details, the kind of research they do, and what people say about them.
So, that’s where I’m at now. Still got a lot of research to do, but I feel like I’ve got a good starting point. Choosing the right college for criminal psychology isn’t just about picking a name out of a hat. You gotta really understand what they offer and if it fits with what you wanna do.
