I’ve been messing around with different ways to, you know, get a bit of guidance or figure stuff out lately. So, I started looking into those oracle cards and tarot cards. Thought I’d share what I’ve been up to, ’cause it’s been kinda interesting.
First off, I got my hands on both types of decks. With Tarot cards, I read up a bit and saw they’ve got this whole system, right? 78 cards, major and minor stuff, it’s all pretty structured. I grabbed a standard deck and started trying to learn the basic meanings. There are certain ones that I read can have a relationship with each other, but I need to learn more about that!
Then, I picked up some oracle cards, and those were totally different. No set rules, just a bunch of cards with all sorts of pictures and words. I found a deck that looked cool and just started pulling cards to see what they said. I think these ones are way easier to use than Tarot.
My Little Experiment
So, here’s what I did. I’d think about something bugging me, like, “What should I focus on this week?” Then, I’d shuffle both decks and pull a few cards from each.
- With the Tarot, I tried doing this three-card spread I saw online – past, present, future. It felt a bit complicated, to be honest. I had to keep looking up what each card meant, and figuring out how they related to each other, my brain hurt, you know?
- But with the oracle cards, it was way simpler. I’d just pull one or two, read the message, and see how it felt. It was more like getting a quick bit of advice from a friend, rather than a whole deep analysis, you know?
What I Noticed
Honestly, the oracle cards were way easier to vibe with at first. They’re super colorful and the messages are pretty straightforward. Plus, you don’t need to memorize a bunch of stuff to use them. Just pick a card and see what it says. Boom, guidance! And I think for a complete beginner like me, that was perfect.
The Tarot, though? That’s a whole other level. It felt like I was learning a new language or something. But I can see why people get into it. There’s so much depth there, and I guess once you get the hang of it, you can get some really detailed readings, which I’d love to do one day.
In the end, I kinda liked using both. The oracle cards were great for a quick check-in, like, “What’s the vibe for today?” But the Tarot, I feel like that’s something I want to keep studying. It’s like a long-term project, and who knows what I’ll uncover with it? Anyway, that’s my little adventure with cards so far. Maybe I’ll update you guys later when I learn more. Or maybe I’ll try to learn how to do a reading for someone else. That could be fun, but also kinda scary!
