Okay, so I wanted to get a little woo-woo today and decided to pull out my tarot deck. I’ve been feeling a bit lost lately, you know, just kind of drifting, and I thought maybe the cards could offer some guidance. The thing is, I’m not really sure what to ask. I mean, “What’s gonna happen to me?” is way too broad, right? So I did some digging around to find some good “questions to ask your tarot deck.” I figured I’d share my little tarot adventure with you guys.
Getting Started
First things first, I cleansed my deck. I just waved it through some incense smoke, nothing fancy. Then I shuffled the cards while thinking about what area of my life I wanted clarity on. Today, it was definitely my career. I’ve been feeling stuck in a rut, and I’m itching for a change, but I don’t know which way to go.
The Questions I Picked
Instead of just asking “What should I do about my job?”, I found some more specific questions that I thought would be more helpful. Here’s what I went with:
- What energy is blocking me from moving forward in my career?
- What is a hidden talent I should be developing?
- What steps can I take to find more fulfillment in my work?
- What is the potential outcome if I stay on my current path?
- What is the potential outcome if I make a big career change?
Pulling the Cards and My Interpretations
For each question, I shuffled again, focused on the question, and then pulled a card. I laid them all out in a row, which is a simple spread I like to use. Now, interpreting tarot is super personal, and I’m definitely no expert. I usually just go with my gut feeling about what the card means in relation to the question. It’s more about intuition than knowing some strict definition of each card.
For example, when I asked about the energy blocking me, I got the reversed Tower. To me, that screamed fear of change, fear of shaking things up. Which, yeah, that’s totally me right now. I also know the Tower can mean destruction, then it will be fine.
Then, for hidden talents, I pulled the Magician. That made me think about communication and maybe even starting my own thing, manifesting my own reality. That was exciting to me, the Magician is a great card to receive in this questions!
I won’t bore you with every single detail, but basically, I went through each question like that. I jotted down the card I pulled and my initial thoughts about it in my journal. Sometimes I would meditate a little on the card’s image, looking for anything that stood out.
Wrapping Up
After I finished the reading, I spent some time reflecting on all the cards together. It was actually pretty eye-opening. The cards didn’t give me a magic solution, obviously, but they did help me see my situation from a different perspective. They highlighted some of my fears and also some of my potential strengths. That I needed to see.
I think the biggest takeaway for me was that I need to be more proactive. The cards seemed to be encouraging me to take risks and embrace change, which is something I definitely struggle with, I feel this is a good time to change. It was a good reminder that I have more power over my situation than I sometimes think I do, and this tarot reading did give me this remind.
So, yeah, that was my little tarot experiment for the day. It was a fun and insightful experience. Maybe I’ll make this a regular thing. If you guys have any favorite tarot questions, let me know! I’d love to try them out next time I do a reading for myself, or even to you!
