Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole astrology thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. There’s so much to it, right? But the thing that’s been bugging me the most is this whole “house system” business. It’s like, which one is the real deal? Which one actually works?
So, I started digging. I mean, I really went down the rabbit hole. I read a bunch of articles, watched some videos, and even tried to decipher some of those ancient texts (that was a struggle, I’ll admit). There are so many different ways to divide up the sky, you know? You’ve got your Placidus, your Whole Sign, your Equal, and a whole bunch of others with names I can barely pronounce – Koch, Porphyrius, Regiomontanus, Campanus…it’s enough to make your head spin.
I decided the best way to figure this out was to just try them out. I mean, how else are you going to know what works, right? I started with my own birth chart. I plugged my info into a bunch of different astrology websites and started comparing the results.
- First, I tried the Placidus system. It seemed okay, but some of the house placements felt a little off to me. Like, it put my Moon in the 7th house, which is all about partnerships and relationships, but that just didn’t really resonate with me.
- Then I tried Whole Sign. This one was interesting. It felt simpler, more straightforward. Suddenly, my Moon was in the 8th house, which is about shared resources, transformation, and the hidden aspects of life. That felt a lot more accurate to my experience.
- I experimented with Equal, too. It made the houses all equal size like each part gets its 30 degrees of the pie. Honestly, this felt a bit too rigid, kind of like it was forcing things into neat little boxes that didn’t quite fit.
After messing around with my own chart, I started looking at the charts of people I know. Friends, family, even some celebrities whose birth times I could find online. I compared their charts using the different systems, trying to see which one seemed to reflect their lives the most accurately.
The Verdict?
Honestly? It’s still a work in progress. But if I had to pick one right now, I’d say I’m leaning towards Whole Sign. It just seems to make the most sense to me. It feels more intuitive, more aligned with how I understand astrology. I had used the Porphyry system for many readings because it seemed to fit my style the best. The hundreds of readings I gave confirmed that it spoke to my clients well. But recently I have also realized that Whole Sign will provide a more accurate result.
But hey, that’s just me. What works for one person might not work for another. The important thing is to experiment, to find what resonates with you. Don’t be afraid to try different things, to see what feels right. Astrology is a journey, not a destination, right? And this whole house system thing is just one part of that journey. It’s all about finding the tools that help you understand yourself and the world around you a little better. So go out there, explore, and see what you discover! Don’t believe anyone who tells you one way is the only right way. Find your own way!
