Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to share this for a while, and today’s the day! It’s about my little experiment with OPI’s astrology-themed nail polishes. Yeah, you heard that right—nail polish based on your zodiac sign. Sounds kinda gimmicky, but I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot.
First, I went to a beauty store, they got some OPI products. I’m not much of a beauty guru, but I do like to keep my nails looking decent. And I checked out their collection and honestly, the colors are pretty nice, regardless of the astrology theme. They got all sorts, from shimmery blues to deep reds.
So I picked up a few that caught my eye. I’m a Scorpio, so naturally, I grabbed the one for my sign. It’s this deep, mysterious, kinda dark purple color. Really cool. But I also got a couple of others because, why not? I grabbed a fiery red for Aries (my rising sign, if you’re into that stuff) and a dreamy blue for Pisces (because I just liked the color, okay?).

Next, I went back home and started to try it out. I applied the Scorpio one first, of course. The application was smooth, no clumps or anything. Two coats and it looked perfect. It’s a really rich color, and it dried pretty fast, which is always a plus. The Tri-Flex Technology really works.
Then I tried the Aries red. It’s bold, I’ll give it that. Not something I’d wear every day, but definitely a statement color. It made me think that I could do some nail art, and some tutorials showed how to create “Red-y for Gold” effect, guess I could try that next time.
Lastly, the Pisces blue. It’s more subtle than the other two, kinda like a cloudy sky. I found this one perfect for a more laid-back look. And this one claims to be long-lasting up to 3 weeks, awesome! I also saw that JCPenney got some sales going on with OPI products, good to know!
My Thoughts
Honestly, it was a fun little project. I ended up with some new nail polish colors that I actually like, and I got to play around with the whole astrology theme. I think the polishes are good quality—they go on nicely and last a while without chipping. Plus, the colors are really pretty. I even got compliments on the Scorpio purple!
