Okay, so I’ve been getting really into tarot lately. Like, REALLY into it. And you know what’s a juicy topic? Love triangles. Messy, dramatic, the whole shebang. So, I decided to do a little experiment today to see if I could identify some cards that might pop up in a reading when a love triangle is brewing. It’s all in good fun, right?
First, I grabbed my trusty deck. It’s the one my grandma gave me – a little worn around the edges, but I feel like it has good vibes. I shuffled the cards, focusing on the general question: “What tarot cards might indicate a love triangle situation?” I wasn’t asking about a specific situation, just getting a feel for the overall energy.
Then, I laid out a simple three-card spread. I like to keep it simple when I’m just exploring. No fancy Celtic Cross or anything, just three cards in a row to represent past, present, and potential future energies. This gives me a basic narrative to explore.
My Card Pull
- Past: The Two of Cups. Okay, this makes sense. The Two of Cups is often about partnership, connection, that initial spark. Maybe this represents the beginning of one of the relationships involved in the triangle.
- Present: The Three of Swords. Ouch. This one is pretty clear, right? Heartbreak, betrayal, difficult choices…yep, that screams “love triangle drama” to me. It’s the card of feeling torn, hurt, and like your heart is being pierced.
- Future: The Lovers. Interesting! This could go a few ways. The Lovers card can represent a significant choice, a crossroads. So, it might indicate that a decision will have to be made within the triangle. Or, could mean making a choice in love.
I spent some time just looking at the cards, letting the imagery sink * Three of Swords was definitely the strongest indicator, in my mind. All that pain, all that confusion… that’s a big red flag.
I also jotted down some notes in my tarot journal, listing other cards that I thought might be relevant. I am listing other cards that popped into my mind when considering love triangles:
- Seven of Cups: This can indicate illusions, wishful thinking, maybe not seeing the situation clearly.
- Five of Pentacles: Feeling left out in the cold, a sense of loss or exclusion.
- Page of Cups: The Page represents youthful energy, love letters, but also could mean jealousy.
I concluded that while the Three of Swords was the most obvious “ouch” card, the overall context of the reading is super important. The Two of Cups and The Lovers added layers of meaning. It wasn’t just about pain; it was about relationships, choices, and potential consequences.
It’s important to note, that I am just having fun. At the end, It’s all about my intuition, using the cards as a tool to tap into my own understanding of the situation.
