Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a tarot certification for a while now. I mean, I’ve been reading cards for friends and family for years, and they always say I’m pretty good. So, I figured, why not make it official, right?
Starting the Search
First thing I did was hit up the internet. I just started searching for “tarot certification” and, boy, did I get a lot of results! It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest. There were so many different courses and programs, all promising to make me a “certified tarot master” or something like that.
I spent a good few hours just clicking through different websites, reading reviews, and trying to figure out what was legit and what was, well, not so much. I definitely found some sketchy-looking sites, so I made sure to steer clear of those.
Narrowing it Down
After a while, I started to get a feel for the different types of certifications out there. Some were purely online, some were in-person, and some were a mix of both. I knew I wanted something mostly online, ’cause, you know, life is busy. I also wanted something with good reviews and a solid reputation.

- Made a shortlist of, like, five different programs.
Making the Decision
It was tough to choose, It took time to decided, you know? Each program had its own pros and cons. Some were more expensive, some were longer, some focused on different styles of reading. I basically just had to weigh what was most important to me.
Finally, I picked one that felt like the right fit. It was mostly online, had great reviews, and seemed pretty comprehensive. It covered everything from basic card meanings to different spreads and even some ethics stuff.
Diving into the Course
So, I signed up, paid the fee (oof, that hurt a little), and got started. The course was pretty intense, actually! There were lots of readings, videos, and quizzes. I had to do practice readings and submit them for feedback. It was a lot of work, but I was learning a ton.
I spent my evenings and weekends studying, practicing, and doing the course assignments. It was tiring, but also really exciting. I felt like I was finally getting a deeper understanding of the cards and how to use them.
Getting Certified!
After a few months of hard work, I finally finished the course! I had to pass a final exam, which was a little nerve-wracking, but I did it! I got my certificate in the mail, and I gotta say, it felt pretty good.
Like, I actually accomplished something, you know?
Now, I’m not saying I’m suddenly a tarot expert or anything. I still have a lot to learn, and I’ll probably keep taking courses and workshops to improve my skills. But having that certification, it just gives me a little more confidence. And it’s kinda cool to be able to say I’m a “certified tarot reader,” even if it’s just to myself.
