Okay, so today I decided to play around with this “tarot dagkaart” thing, which basically means “tarot card of the day” in… Dutch, I think? I’ve been seeing it pop up all over my socials, and you know me, I’m a sucker for anything a little woo-woo.

First things first, I needed a deck. I dusted off my old Rider-Waite deck – the classic one with all the colorful pictures. It’s been sitting in a drawer for ages, so it felt good to get it out.
Getting Started
- Find a deck: I used my Rider-Waite, but any tarot deck will work.
- Clear my head: I didn’t want any pre-conceived notions of anythings.
- Shuffle the cards: This is the fun part! I like to really mix them up.
I sat down at my kitchen table, took a few deep breaths to get myself centered, and then I started shuffling the cards. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not a pro at shuffling these things. They’re kinda big and slippery, and I definitely dropped a few on the floor. Oops!
Once I felt like the cards were good and shuffled, I spread them out face down on the table. Then, I just hovered my hand over them until I felt a little… tingle? I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s like a little pull towards a specific card.
The Big Reveal
Today, the card I pulled was The Star. Honestly, it’s a pretty good one! It’s all about hope, inspiration, and renewal. Which, you know, I could definitely use a little of that in my life right now.

I spent some time just looking at the card, taking in all the details. The woman pouring water, the stars in the sky… it’s a really beautiful image. I also always use a website to find out the meanings of all the card, beacause I am an amateur, so I looked up a quick interpretation online to get a better sense of what it might mean for me.
My Interpretation of Tarot day card
For me, The Star feels like a reminder to stay positive and keep moving forward, even when things are tough. It’s about trusting in the universe and knowing that good things are coming. And that’s a message I can definitely get behind!
So, that was my little tarot adventure for today. It was a fun way to start the morning and get myself thinking. Who knows, maybe I’ll make this a daily thing! I will keep it recorded and let’s see if anything happen!
