Alright, let’s talk about this “free will horoscope” thing. I ain’t no fancy scholar or nothin’, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But I reckon I can tell ya a bit about what I’ve heard and what makes sense to me.
Now, some folks say your life’s all written in the stars. They look at them charts, you know, with all them squiggly lines and pictures, and they tell ya what’s gonna happen. They say stuff like, “Oh, Jupiter’s in your fifth house, so you’ll have a bunch of kids,” or “Mars is actin’ up, so watch out for trouble.”
Heck, I don’t know ’bout all that planetary mumbo jumbo. But I do know that sometimes things just seem to happen, like they was meant to be. You ever feel that way? Like somethin’s pushin’ ya in a certain direction, even when ya try to go the other way?
But then again, I’ve seen folks change their lives around too. I’ve seen drunks get sober, lazy folks get to workin’, and mean folks turn kind. So, how does that fit in with the stars tellin’ ya what to do?
- Makes ya think, don’t it?
- Maybe the stars just show ya the possibilities, the kinda things that might happen if ya keep on the same path.
- But maybe, just maybe, ya got the power to choose a different path.
I heard this fella once, some kinda wise man from India, say that fate and free will are both powerful, but free will is more important. He said it’s your choices that decide what kinda life you’ll have. That makes sense to me. It’s like, sure, maybe the cards are dealt a certain way, but ya still get to play ’em, right?
And let’s be honest, some of them horoscopes they write, they’re so darn general they could apply to anyone. They say things like, “You’ll meet someone new soon,” or “You’ll have some good luck this week.” Well, heck, who wouldn’t want that? It’s like tellin’ ya the sun’s gonna rise in the mornin’.
So, what’s a body to do? Should ya listen to the horoscopes or just ignore ’em? I reckon it’s up to you. If readin’ ’em makes ya feel better, or gives ya a little somethin’ to think about, then why not? But don’t let ’em rule your life. Don’t let ’em tell ya ya can’t do somethin’ just ’cause the stars ain’t lined up right. You got your own mind, your own heart, and your own two hands. That’s what really matters.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ there ain’t nothin’ to this astrology stuff. Maybe there is somethin’ to it. Maybe them planets and stars do have some kind of influence on us. But I figure it’s like plantin’ seeds. Ya can plant a seed, but ya gotta water it and take care of it if ya want it to grow. And even then, sometimes the weather don’t cooperate, and the seed don’t sprout. Ya can’t control everything, but ya can sure try your best.
So, go ahead and read your horoscope if ya want. But remember, you’re the one drivin’ the wagon. You’re the one makin’ the choices. Don’t let nobody, not even the stars, tell ya otherwise.
And you know, life’s short. Instead of worryin’ ’bout what some stars say, why not spend that time doin’ somethin’ good? Maybe leave a little somethin’ behind for the young’uns, help out them that need it. I heard about some folks writin’ up a will, makin’ sure their stuff goes to the right place after they’re gone. That sounds like a good idea, leavin’ a legacy, ya know? Makes ya think about what’s really important in this life, not just chasin’ after what the stars might promise.
Anyways, that’s just my two cents. Take it or leave it. You do what you think is best. And remember, even if the stars ain’t on your side, you still got a chance to make somethin’ good outta this life. Don’t forget to laugh sometimes too, even at yourself, ain’t no harm in cuttin’ loose and forgettin’ all this serious talk for a bit.
