Well now, let me tell ya, these astrology pencils, they ain’t just your regular ol’ writing sticks. You see, they got all them fancy stars and signs on ‘em. I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it. My grandbaby, she got one, and it’s got all sorts of squiggly lines and pictures on it.

First off, what are these things anyway? They call ‘em astrology pencils, and they got pictures of, well, the stars, I guess. They got these things called zodiac signs. I heard tell each sign means somethin’ different, like some folks are born under a ram, some under a crab, and some under a fish. Sounds fishy to me, ha!

Aries: They say these folks are like firecrackers, always jumpin’ and goin’.
Taurus: These ones are stubborn as mules, but they get the job done.
Gemini: Two-faced, they say. Can’t make up their minds, always flappin’ their gums.
Cancer: Softies, these ones. Cry at a drop of a hat.
Leo: Think they’re the king of the castle, always struttin’ around.
Virgo: Neat freaks, always cleanin’ and fussin’.
Libra: Tryin’ to keep the peace, can’t stand a fight.
Scorpio: Secretive, they are. You never know what they’re thinkin’.
Sagittarius: Wanderers, always got itchy feet.
Capricorn: Workaholics, always climbin’ the ladder.
Aquarius: Oddballs, they are. Marchin’ to their own drum.
Pisces: Dreamers, always got their heads in the clouds.

Now, I ain’t sayin’ I believe in all this star stuff, but some folks swear by it. They say these astrology pencils can help ya connect with your sign, whatever that means. My grandbaby says when she uses her pencil, it helps her think better. She says it’s got somethin’ to do with the constellations. I told her, “Honey, the only constellation I know is the Big Dipper, and that ain’t gonna help you with your homework.” But she just giggles and keeps on scribblin’ with that pencil.

These pencils ain’t just for writin’, mind you. They got all sorts of purdy pictures on ‘em. Some got celestial designs, like moons and stars. Some got the signs I was talkin’ about, all them rams and crabs and such. My grandbaby’s got one with a lion on it, ‘cause she’s a Leo, whatever that is.

I seen some folks collectin’ these pencils, like they was stamps or somethin’. They got boxes full of ‘em, all lined up neat and tidy. I guess it’s a hobby, like my sister’s collection of them porcelain dolls, kinda creepy if you ask me. But hey, to each their own, I always say. If it makes ‘em happy, let ‘em collect their pencils.

You can find these astrology pencils just about anywhere now. They got ‘em at the store down the road, and even online, whatever that is. My grandbaby showed me. It’s like a whole ‘nother world in that little box, selling everything under the sun including zodiac stationary. They got pencils with every sign you can think of. You want a ram pencil? They got it. You want a fish pencil? They got that too. You want a pencil with a picture of a naked lady? Well, I ain’t seen one of them, but they probably got it somewhere.

So, there you have it. Astrology pencils. They ain’t gonna change the world, but they might make you smile. And who knows, maybe them stars got somethin’ to do with it after all. Me? I’m just stickin’ with my trusty ol’ pencil, the one I got free at the bank. It ain’t fancy, but it gets the job done. But if you like them fancy astrology pencils, go on and get yourself one.
