Well, let me tell ya ’bout them Hells Angels fellas down in Florida. I heard some stories, ya know, the kind folks whisper about. Don’t know if it’s all true, but it’s what they say.
The Start of It All, they say these Hells Angels, they started way back in California, 1948 they tell me. Some fella, Otto somethin’, he started it up after a fight with another bunch of bikers. Imagine that! Grown men fightin’ over who rides what.
Now, these Hells Angels, they ain’t no regular motorcycle club. They call ’em “outlaw” bikers, which sounds about right. They got chapters all over, even down here in Florida. Tampa, *, they got ’em all over. Ridin’ them loud Harley Davidsons, makin’ a ruckus wherever they go.
- They only let white fellas join, I heard.
- And ya gotta have a Harley, none of that foreign stuff.
- They ain’t exactly the friendliest bunch, if ya know what I mean.
Trouble in Florida, I remember hearin’ somethin’ ’bout a big fight back in ’74. Hells Angels and another group, the Outlaws they called ’em. One fella got beat up, then the Outlaws, they got mad and wanted revenge. It was a whole mess, they say. Just a bunch of trouble, them bikers.
Big Trouble Up North, then there was that thing up in Montreal, Canada. Fightin’ over drugs, they say. Hells Angels and Outlaws again, fightin’ like cats and dogs. This went on for years, from ’78 to ’83. Lot of bad things happened, folks gettin’ hurt, worse even. Just goes to show, ya mess with these fellas, and there’s gonna be trouble.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ all them Hells Angels are bad. But they got a reputation, and it ain’t a good one. They wear them patches, with the death’s head and all. Scary lookin’ fellas, some of ’em. And they ride around in big groups, makin’ all that noise. It’s enough to make a body nervous.
They say the Outlaws are trouble too, ya know. Just another gang of bikers, far as I can tell. They were called a racketeering enterprise. I don’t even know what that means, but it don’t sound good, that’s for sure. And these Outlaws, they only wanted white men with Harley Davidsons too. Sounds just like them Hells Angels.
Folks say they do all sorts of things, them Hells Angels. Drugs, fightin’, all that bad stuff. I ain’t seen it myself, mind you, but that’s what they say. And where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire, ain’t that right? So I reckon there’s some truth to it.
They got chapters all over Florida, them Hells Angels. And the Outlaws too, for that matter. So ya gotta be careful, ya know? Don’t want to get mixed up with them fellas. They ain’t the kind ya want to cross. Just keep your head down and mind your own business, that’s what I say. That’s the best way to stay out of trouble.
So, that’s what I know ’bout them Hells Angels in Florida. Just what I heard, mind you. But it’s enough to make a body think twice, that’s for sure. They ain’t folks ya wanna mess with. Just a bunch of trouble, if ya ask me.
Now, I’m just an old woman, and I don’t know everything. But I got a good sense of folks, and these Hells Angels, they ain’t the kind ya wanna be around. They got that look in their eyes, ya know? Like they’re lookin’ for trouble. And they usually find it, too.
So, if ya see them ridin’ down the road, just step aside and let ’em pass. It ain’t worth gettin’ involved. Just let ’em go on their way and be done with it. That’s the best advice I can give ya.
And that’s all I got to say about them fellas. Stay safe now, ya hear?
