Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here “zetetic astronomy” and the Earth not bein’ a globe. Folks these days, they got all sorts of fancy ideas, but back in my day, things were simpler.
Now, this fella, Parallax, he wrote a whole book about it, “Zetetic Astronomy, Earth Not a Globe!” Sounds mighty complicated, don’t it? But it ain’t, not really. He’s sayin’ the Earth is flat, like a pancake, not a ball like them school teachers tell ya.
I ain’t no scientist, mind you. I just know what I see with my own two eyes. And I ain’t never seen no curve, have you? You look out yonder, far as the eye can see, and it’s flat, flat, flat. That’s good enough for me.
- They talk about ships disappearin’ over the horizon, hull first. But I say, that’s just ’cause they’re gettin’ too far away to see, plain and simple. Like a bug crawlin’ away on a tablecloth, you see the body then just the legs, then nothin’.
- And them pictures from space? Hmph, I reckon they’re just made up. Who’s been up there to check? Nobody I know.
This book, “Earth Not a Globe,” it’s got all sorts of experiments and such. Folks tryin’ to prove the Earth is flat, usin’ water levels and long lines and whatnot. I ain’t done none of that myself, but it makes ya think, don’t it?
Some folks say it’s all about faith. This Parallax fella, he was a religious man, and he believed the Bible told him the Earth was flat. Well, I ain’t gonna argue with the Bible. It’s the honest truth and always has been.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I know for sure if the Earth is flat or round. But I am sayin’ it’s okay to question things. Don’t just believe everything them city folks and scientists tell ya. Use your own common sense, look around ya, and decide for yourself.
They got these big words, like “zetetic astronomy” and “experimental inquiry.” But all it really means is lookin’ at the world and tryin’ to figure out how it works. And that’s somethin’ we can all do, even if we ain’t got no fancy degrees.
I heard some folks talkin’ about this book bein’ real old, from 1881 or somethin’. Well, somethin’ being old don’t make it wrong. That’s when people were more honest and didn’t try to trick you with fancy contraptions.
There’s this big community of folks who believe in a flat Earth. They read this book and share their ideas and all. It’s fascinatin’, even if you don’t agree with ’em. They got all sorts of explanations for how things work, like why we don’t fall off the edge and what causes the day and night.
I tell ya, it’s a whole different way of lookin’ at the world. Most folks just accept what they’re told, but these flat-Earthers, they ain’t afraid to question things. And that’s somethin’ I respect, even if I’m a little too old to worry too much about these kinds of things. Seems like scientists are always changing their mind about one thing or another anyways.
“Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe!” It’s a mouthful, ain’t it? But it’s worth thinkin’ about. Don’t just take my word for it, or Parallax’s word, or anybody else’s word. Look around ya, use your own noodle, and decide for yourself what you believe. That’s the most important thing, after all.
Some say it’s got 305 pages this book, that’s a lot of readin’ but maybe worth it if you are looking for a new idea. But you can find it on the internet too, just search for that big ol’ name, “Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe”, and see for yourself what the commotion is about. Don’t worry too much if it seems complicated, I’m sure they’s plenty of nice folks on the internet that can explain it to ya.
Like I said, I ain’t no scientist, I’m just a regular person, but flat or round, I still gotta get up in the mornin’ and make my breakfast, tend to the garden and the animals. That won’t change whether the earth is flat or round. But thinking about it, talkin’ about it, and looking at it a new way, that’s important too, I guess.
