Well, let me tell you about this Chinese astrology book thing.
I don’t know much about fancy books or nothin’, but I heard folks talkin’ about these Chinese critters, you know, like the rat and the pig and all them others.
Someone told me there’s a whole book about it. A whole dang book! Can you believe it? About animals tellin’ you your future and stuff. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but folks seem to eat it up. They say it can tell ya if you gonna be rich, or if you gonna find a good man, or if you gonna have a bunch of kids. Heck, if I knew all that back then, maybe I wouldn’t have married that no-good… well, never mind that.
Anyways, this book, they say it’s got all sorts of things in it. Like, what year you was born in, and what animal that makes you. And then it tells you what kind of person you are. Like, if you’re a rat, you’re supposed to be smart and sneaky. If you’re an ox, you’re supposed to be strong and stubborn. And if you’re a pig… well, I guess you just like to eat a lot. Hah! Just kiddin’! But seriously, they say pigs are lucky and have good lives. Maybe I shoulda been born a pig!
They also say this Chinese astrology book can tell you who you’re compatible with. You know, like, if you’re a rooster, you should marry a snake, or somethin’ like that. I tell ya, it’s all a bit confusing to me. Back in my day, you just married the fella down the road who had a decent farm and didn’t smell too bad. None of this animal stuff.
- Rat: Smart and sneaky, they say. Good at squirreling away money, I reckon.
- Ox: Strong and stubborn, like my old mule. Gets the job done, but don’t expect ‘em to be quick about it.
- Tiger: Brave and fierce. Probably good at chasin’ away them pesky crows from the cornfield.
- Rabbit: Gentle and kind. Like them little bunnies hoppin’ around in the spring.
- Dragon: Powerful and lucky. I ain’t never seen no real dragon, but they sound impressive. This year, 2024, that’s the dragon year, the wood dragon they call it. Lots of folks saying its special.
- Snake: Wise and mysterious. Kinda slithery, though. I don’t much like snakes, if I’m being honest.
- Horse: Free-spirited and energetic. Always runnin’ around, like them wild horses out on the plains.
- Goat: Peaceful and artistic. Probably good at makin’ them pretty flower arrangements they sell at the market.
- Monkey: Playful and clever. Always up to somethin’, them monkeys.
- Rooster: Proud and confident. Strutting around like they own the place.
- Dog: Loyal and honest. Man’s best friend, they say. I always did like dogs better than cats.
- Pig: Lucky and happy. And probably a bit on the plump side, if you ask me. They say next year, 2025, that will be the snake year.
Now, some folks say 2024 is gonna be a big year, cause it’s the year of the wood dragon. I don’t know what that means exactly, but they say it’s a good year for makin’ big changes and takin’ chances. And then in 2025 it is the year of the snake and that means something else, something about thinking and growing. Each one has something special, it seems. Every animal and every year.
But I tell you what, I don’t need no book to tell me how to live my life. I just get up every mornin’, do my chores, and try to be a decent person. That’s all that matters, far as I’m concerned.
But if you’re into all that astrology stuff, I guess this Chinese astrology book might be worth a look. Just don’t go blamin’ the animals if your life don’t turn out the way you want it to. It’s up to you to make your own luck, that’s what I always say.
They got all sorts of books about this, you know? Some are plain and simple, like they say, just the basics. Others are more complicated, talkin’ about elements and cycles and all sorts of things I can’t even pronounce. And some of them books have been around for ages, like forty years or somethin’ crazy like that. Guess folks have been lookin’ to the stars for answers since time began.
So yeah, that’s about all I know about this Chinese astrology book. It’s a book about animals and your future. Take it with a grain of salt, I say. But who knows, maybe there’s somethin’ to it. Maybe them animals know more than we think.
