To me, it just means them books that mess with your head, make you think twice about everything. I tell you, these books nowadays, they ain’t like the stories we used to tell ’round the fire. They’re something else, those thriller things.

They say these psychological thriller books are “gripping.” That means they hold onto you tight, like a tick on a hound dog. They talk about folks’ innermost thoughts and what makes ’em do the things they do. Makes you wonder about people, don’t it? Makes you wonder what’s going on inside their heads. It’s kinda creepy, if you ask me. But some folks are really into it. They like to think about the dark side of things. It’s scary though, isn’t it?
And get this – these thriller books, they sell like hotcakes! Millions of ’em! Folks just gobble ’em up. I guess some people just love to be scared. These books, they are like a puzzle, or a maze. You don’t know where it’s gonna go. The people in them, they are not always who you think they are. Makes you wonder about your own neighbors. You just don’t know what is happening.
If you like that sort of thing, that’s fine. But I don’t know, these psychological thriller books they are just too much for me. These books make you think too much. They stay with you, like a bad dream. You can’t shake them off. I don’t like that feeling.
