More’n a hundred, can you believe it? They say Texas is a big state, so it makes sense they got lots of places to learn about that psychology stuff.
They got all kinds of these, whatchamacallits, degrees. Certifi-cats, associates, bachelors, masters. Even them fancy doctor things. If you wanna be a shrink, that is to help people with their heads, there’s plenty of places for you in Texas. It is really a good choice if you want to find a good school.

Now, I heard this University of Texas at Austin is a real good one. It is really famous. Top ten in the whole darn country for psychology. And number one in Texas, they say. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Seems like everybody wants to study that psychology. It’s a popular thing. They say it’s the fourth most popular thing to study in the whole country. People just want to learn how to help people, it is a good thing.
Then there’s this Rice University. They say it’s number two in Texas for psychology programs. This one is hard to get into, I heard. Real hard. They only take, like, nine out of every hundred that try to get in. And you gotta be real smart, too. They got these tests, SAT and ACT. High scores, real high. Smarty pants, all of ’em. I think people who can go to this school are all very clever.
Texas A&M, that’s another one. Number three, they say. Big school, lots of folks go there. It is not as good as the top 2, but it is also a good school. They got all kinds of things to study there, not just psychology. I heard it is a beautiful school. But for psychology, yeah, it’s up there with the best of ’em. It is a good choice if you want to learn psychology in Texas.
They say there are over 100 psychology colleges in Texas, offerin’ all them degrees. It is too many! And they looked at, like, 55 of ’em to figure out which ones are the best. Fifty-five! That’s a lot of lookin’. They ranked them all, one, two, three, all the way down.
They look at a bunch of things when they’re rankin’ these schools. Like, how many folks graduate. They want that number to be high, over 50, they say. And how much it costs. They want that number to be low, under 28, whatever that means. You have to pay to go to school, and some school is more expensive than others. Best psychology colleges should not be too expensive.
They also have a list of 50 best colleges in Texas if you want to get a bachelor’s degree in psychology. It is a long list. 50 is too many to remember. I can’t remember all of them, but the University of Texas and Rice University are probably on it. Texas A&M too, I bet.
If you want to go to a top psychology college in Texas, you gotta be smart. And you gotta work hard. And you gotta pick the right school. It ain’t easy, but it’s worth it, I reckon. If you really want to help people, you need to learn a lot.
Other than them top ones, there’s Trinity University. I heard that’s a good one too, but also hard to get into. All these good schools are hard to get into. There are many other schools. They say there are 122 colleges that teach psychology. But many of them are not very good. If you want to choose the best one, you need to do a lot of work.
