Okay, so I’ve always been into the whole tarot thing, you know? It’s just fascinating. A few months back, I decided to get serious and actually become a certified tarot reader. I mean, why not? So I started looking into it.
First, I did some digging around to see what was even involved. Turns out, there’s no one big boss in the tarot world handing out certifications. It’s more like a bunch of different schools and courses that offer them. Some cover the basics, others get into the business side of things. I found a whole bunch, and honestly, it was a bit overwhelming at first.
Then, I picked out a few courses that looked interesting and compared them. The prices are different and what you’ll learn can vary a lot too. I read through all the descriptions and tried to figure out which one had what I was looking for.
After a lot of thinking, I ended up choosing one that seemed pretty solid. It was called “Master The Tarot Foundations and Certification”. Sounded legit, right? It promised to be an “interactive Tarot experience and a living Tarot book.” And they said I’d “become my own Tarot authority.” Well, that’s the goal!
The course itself was pretty intense. We went through the history of tarot, which was actually super interesting. I learned about how it all got started and how it’s changed over time. We also learned about different tarot decks. There are so many! And they all have different art and vibes. It is also important to pick your own Tarot cards.
Then came the real work: learning the meanings of all the cards. There are 78 of them! We’re talking Major Arcana, Minor Arcana, all the suits, the whole deal. It was a lot to memorize, but the course broke it down in a way that made sense. We practiced reading for each other, which was a little nerve-wracking at first, but it really helped.
The hardest part was developing my own style. I should not read from a book, but what they mean to me. You can’t just read the cards like a textbook. You have to develop your intuition and learn to connect with the person you’re reading for. That takes practice, practice, practice.
Finally, it was time for the test. Yeah, there was an actual test to get certified. I had to pay a fee and everything. I had to do some written stuff to show I knew the meanings of the cards and the history and all that. Then I had to do some practice readings for the instructor. I was so nervous!
But guess what? I passed! I actually got certified! It felt amazing to finally reach that goal. Now I have this certificate that says I’m a certified tarot reader. Does it magically make me an expert? Nah. But it does mean I put in the work and learned the foundations. Now the real work begins, I keep reading for myself and my friends, and I’m starting to build up a little client base. It’s a journey, for sure, but it’s one I’m really excited about. To be honest, I do feel more confident in my readings. And I’m excited to keep learning and growing as a reader.
