Okay, so, I got this idea the other day while I was browsing for some cute stuff online, right? I saw these adorable Hello Kitty pillows, but they were all themed around astrology signs. And I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” It seemed like a fun project, and I’m always up for a little DIY challenge.
First things first, I needed to gather my materials. I already had a plain white pillow that I wasn’t using, so that was a good start. Then, I went online and found some cute Hello Kitty images that were matched with different zodiac signs, since that’s what I wanted to do. I picked my favorite design, which was Hello Kitty as a Libra, because I just love the aesthetic. After that I went to the store to get a printout of that design. Then, I picked up some fabric markers in various colors, making sure I had all the ones I needed for the design.
Getting Down to Business
With everything ready, I laid out the pillow on a flat surface and placed the printed design on top of it. I carefully traced the outline of the design onto the pillow using a light-colored fabric marker. This was a bit tricky, but I took my time to make sure it looked just right.
- Start coloring: Once the outline was done, I started filling in the colors. I used the fabric markers to color in Hello Kitty and the Libra scales, following the colors of the printed design as closely as possible. It was kind of like coloring in a giant coloring book, super relaxing!
- Adding details: After the main colors were done, I went back and added some details, like the little sparkles and the outlines, to really make the design pop. This part was my favorite because it really brought the whole thing to life.
Finishing Touches
Once all the coloring was done, I let the pillow dry for a few hours, just to make sure the colors were set and wouldn’t smudge. Then, I flipped it over and drew a cute little “Handmade with Love” message on the back, just for a personal touch.
And that’s it! My very own Hello Kitty astrology pillow, made from scratch. It turned out even better than I expected, and it’s now one of my favorite things in my room. It’s so cute and unique, and it always makes me smile when I see it. Plus, it was a lot of fun to make, and I learned some new crafting skills along the way. I’m already thinking about making more of these pillows as gifts for my friends. It was a way cuter and more personal gift than anything I could’ve bought in a store.
