He’s about healin’ your spirit, your heart, you know? Like when you’re feelin’ sad or lonely, or when you’ve done somethin’ wrong and you feel guilty. That’s the kind of healin’ he’s really good at, they say.
They say he wants to bring you closer to God. Now, I ain’t gonna preach to ya or nothin’, but that’s what I heard. He figures if you’re closer to God, you’ll be happier and healthier, inside and out. Makes sense, I guess.
Statues and Pictures and Such
People like to make statues and pictures of Raphael, so they can remember him and feel close to him. I seen some of them, real pretty things. Sometimes he’s got wings, sometimes he’s holdin’ a fish, sometimes he’s got a staff. I ain’t sure what it all means, but it sure is somethin’ to look at.
There’s this one statue, I heard about, in some church over in Italy, Venice I think they called it. Big ol’ church, fancy place. And this statue, it’s got a big fish next to it. They say that fish has somethin’ to do with healin’, medicine or somethin’. Don’t ask me, I just heard about it.
A Good Fella, This Raphael
So, from what I can tell, this Raphael angel is a good fella. He’s there to help you out when you need it, whether it’s your body or your soul that’s hurtin’. He’s like a good friend, always lookin’ out for you, always pointin’ you in the right direction.
And you don’t gotta be some fancy church-goin’ person to ask for his help. Just talk to him, like you’re talkin’ to a friend. Tell him what’s on your mind, what’s botherin’ you. Maybe he’ll listen, maybe he’ll help. Can’t hurt to try, right?
Protectin’ the Blind and Nurses Too
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. They say Raphael, he’s also the angel for blind folks, helps ’em see, I guess, not with their eyes maybe, but with their hearts. And he looks after nurses too, them folks that take care of the sick and the old. That’s mighty kind of him, I’d say. He really cares for folks, this Raphael.
And he’s all about happy meetings, bringin’ folks together, makin’ ’em smile. Seems like he just wants everyone to be happy and healthy, body and soul. That ain’t a bad thing to want, is it?
