Well, let me tell you, this here Barry University psychology, it ain’t rocket science, but it’s somethin’ alright. My grandson, he’s thinkin’ about goin’ there. Says he wants to figure out what makes folks tick. I told him, “Boy, you just gotta watch people, that’s all there is to it!” But he says there’s more to it than that. He says you need that paper from the university. Barry University, that’s what they called.
This psychology stuff, it’s about understandin’ people, he says. Why they do what they do. Why some folks are happy-go-lucky and others are always sad as a hound dog. He says this Barry University, they teach you all about that. Some fancy word, he used, “think analytically”. What is that, right? I reckon it’s just thinkin’ real hard about somethin’.
They say you can get some money to go there, too. Up to $7, I heard! That’s a lot of money. Every penny counts, right? They call it a “grant”. You don’t gotta pay it back, neither. My grandson, he’s lookin’ into that. He’s a good boy, always tryin’ to save a buck.
Now, this Barry University, they say it’s all about “liberal arts.” I asked my grandson, he say it is not about some politics. It just means you learn a little bit of everything. You know, readin’, writin’, all that school stuff. They say it makes you a better thinker, this psychology thing. They say this is important if you want to learn about psychology.

- They give you a paper that says you know your stuff.

My grandson, he showed me somethin’ on his phone. Said Barry University was one of the best little schools for learnin’ this psychology. Said it was in some kinda rankin’. I don’t know about all that, but if it helps him get a good job, I’m all for it.
He wants to help people, my grandson. Says this psychology, it can help him do that. He says you don’t gotta be some kinda social butterfly to do it, neither. Just gotta care about people and want to understand ’em. I reckon that’s true. You see all kinds of folks in this world. Some need a helpin’ hand, that’s for sure.
This Barry University, it seems like a good place. They got all kinds of buildin’s and classrooms. My grandson showed me pictures. They even got a place for students to live. Kinda like them little houses they have for college kids. Dorm, they called.
So, this psychology at Barry University, it’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of readin’ and writin’, I reckon. Lots of thinkin’ about people. But if it helps my grandson do what he wants to do, then it’s worth it. He’s a good boy, and he wants to make somethin’ of himself. I always told him that is important. And he needs some paper to get the job, so he has to study in the university.
I told him, “Boy, you gotta work hard. Nothin’ in this life comes easy.” He says he knows, and he’s ready for it. He’s a good boy, like I said. Always been a hard worker. This Barry University psychology, you know, it sound like a lot of work, but I guess it will be okay.
I hope he can get that grant, though. That $7 would sure help out. College is expensive, you know. Everything’s expensive these days. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy schoolin’. But you can learn a lot from Barry University psychology.
I guess times are changin’. Gotta keep up with the times, I reckon. This psychology, it’s the way of the future, my grandson says. He says there are a lot of jobs in this field. Good jobs, too. Jobs where you can help people and make a good livin’. That’s all a grandma can ask for, right? For her grandson to be happy and successful. He wants to be happy, and he chose this.
I still think watchin’ people is the best way to learn about ’em. But I guess this Barry University, they got their ways. And if it helps my grandson, then I’m all for it. He’s a good boy, and he deserves a good future. Maybe he can make a difference in this world, this Barry University psychology thing, maybe it will help him to make difference. Who knows, right? The world needs more people who care, that’s for sure.
