Alright, let’s talk about these here… uh… celestial tarot cards, yeah, that’s what they call ‘em. My grandkid showed me some pictures, all fancy and whatnot. Said there’s 78 of ‘em. Seventy-eight! That’s a whole lotta cards, I tell ya. More than I got in my old deck for playin’ rummy.
Now, from what I gather, these ain’t just for playin’ games. They got meanings, see? Like, each card tells a story or somethin’. My grandkid was jabberin’ on about stars and planets and all that highfalutin stuff. Said somethin’ about… um… astrology? Yeah, that was it. Like them stars up there got somethin’ to do with these cards. Who knew? I always just thought they was pretty lights in the sky.
Then there’s this other word… divination, I think. Sounds fancy, right? Means lookin’ into the future or somethin’. So, these cards, they supposed to tell you what’s gonna happen? Or maybe what’s already happened? I dunno. Seems kinda spooky to me, but folks believe all sorts of things these days.
My grandkid pointed out some special cards. The Star, the Moon, and the Sun. Even I know them! Said they’re real important. The Star, that’s like hope, you know? Like when you wish upon a star? The Moon, that’s all mysterious and…glowy. And the Sun, well, that’s bright and happy, like a sunny day. Makes sense, I guess.
Now, these cards, they got two groups. Big ones and small ones. The big ones, they call ‘em… major arcana? Twenty-two of them. Sound important. Like the boss cards or somethin’. Then there’s the little ones, minor arcana, fifty-six of them. More like regular cards, but with pictures and stuff. My grandkid says they’re like regular playin’ cards, but with extra meanin’. So, you got your hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades, but they call ‘em somethin’ else. Cups, pentacles, swords, and wands, I think. All fancy names for the same old things, if you ask me.
- Cups – that’s like your hearts, all about love and feelings and such.
- Pentacles – them’s the diamonds, talkin’ about money and work and stuff you can hold in your hand.
- Swords – like spades, mean trouble and arguments and hard decisions.
- Wands – them’s the clubs, all about action and energy and gettin’ things done.
So, each of them little cards got a number and a suit, just like a regular deck. And each number and each suit got a meanin’. And then you got them picture cards too, like the king and queen and jack. But they got different names in this here tarot deck. Page, knight, queen, and king. More fancy names, see? And they all mean somethin’ different too.
Now, puttin’ it all together, that’s how you read these cards, I guess. You look at the pictures, you think about what they mean, and you try to figure out what it all means for you. My grandkid says it ain’t just about lookin’ into the future. It’s about understandin’ yourself better, too. Like, what you want, what you scared of, what you good at. Sounds kinda like thinkin’ real hard to me, but hey, if it helps people, then I guess it’s alright.
This deck, it mixes up them old-timey tarot cards with all that star stuff. Said it gives you a deeper look into your life and whatnot. Personal journey, my grandkid called it. Sounds like a long walk, but I guess it’s more about figurin’ out where you’re goin’ in life, not just on the road. You gotta prepare yourself, learn the card meanings, and then… well, then you just start readin’, I suppose. Seems complicated, but I reckon anybody can learn it if they put their mind to it.
So, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. Seventy-eight cards, big ones and small ones, stars and planets and all that jazz. Hope and mystery and bright shiny suns. Love and money and trouble and gettin’ things done. Sounds like life, don’t it? Maybe that’s why folks like these cards so much. They ain’t just pictures on cardboard, they’re like… little pieces of life itself. Or maybe I’m just talkin’ nonsense. You never can tell with these things.
Anyways, that’s all I know about these here celestial tarot cards. Hope it made some sense. If not, well, go ask my grandkid. They know more about this stuff than I do, that’s for sure.
