I heard that New York has a lot of schools. They all have psychology programs. I don’t know what that is. But my granddaughter says it’s good. She wants to learn it. She’s a smart girl.
New York is a big place. There is a place called New York City. It’s very big. A lot of people there. A lot of cars, too. I don’t like it. Too noisy. But my granddaughter likes it. She says there are good schools there.
Columbia University
One school is called Columbia University. Sounds fancy, right? It’s in New York City. My granddaughter says it’s a good school. Very famous. It’s a four-year school. They have this psychology thing there. Some people learn it there.
They say Columbia University is number 9 in the whole country. That’s very good, I guess. It’s also number 10 in North America. I don’t know what that means. But it sounds good. They have a lot of these psychology programs. It’s number 1 in New York.
This school, it’s big. Very big. Lots of students. They have one psychology program there. It’s called Psychology, General. I don’t know what’s “general” about it. But my granddaughter says it’s good. Six people learned it in 2022, the paper said.
Other Schools in New York
There are other schools, too. Not just Columbia. They say New York has over 100 schools. Can you believe it? So many! And many of them have psychology programs. My granddaughter says she can choose.

- Cornell University
These schools, they are good, too. They have strong psychology departments. I don’t know what a “department” is. But my granddaughter says it’s important. These schools, they are in New York, too. But not all in New York City.
My granddaughter wants to study psychology. She says it’s about how people think. How they feel. Why they do things. Sounds interesting. I always wonder why people do what they do. Maybe she can tell me when she learns it.
There is a place called Albany. I have a friend living there. It’s the capital of New York. But everyone talks about New York City. They say it’s the best. It puts New York on the map. I don’t know what that means. But it sounds important.
Best Psychology Programs
They say the best school for psychology is in California. It’s called Stanford University. It’s number 1, they say. But it’s very hard to get in. Only 4% get in. That’s very small. My granddaughter is smart. But I don’t know if she’s that smart.
But New York has good schools, too. They have good psychology programs. My granddaughter can learn there. She can become a psychologist. I don’t know what they do. But it sounds important. They help people, I think. They also have a great program at Fordham University.
I hope my granddaughter can get into a good school. I hope she can learn psychology. I hope she can be happy. That’s all I want. For her to be happy. And to learn something useful. And to help people. That’s what’s important.
New York, it’s a good place for learning. Even I know that. And I didn’t go to school much. But I know it’s important. For my granddaughter. For her future. I want her to have a good future. Better than mine.
She can learn about people. About their minds. About their feelings. She can help them. That’s a good thing. To help people. I always try to help people. In my own way. Maybe she can help people in a bigger way. With psychology.
Choosing a School
There are so many schools. How to choose? My granddaughter says she will look at them all. She will see which one is best for her. She will see which one has the best psychology program. She is a smart cookie.
She says there are videos, too. 15,000 videos! Can you believe it? So many! She can watch them. She can learn about the schools. She can learn about psychology. She can make a good choice. I trust her.
I don’t know much about these things. About schools. About psychology. But I know my granddaughter. She’s smart. She’s kind. She’s hardworking. She will do well. I know it. I hope New York City has the best psychology programs for her.
I just want her to be happy. To learn. To grow. To help people. That’s all that matters. And maybe, one day, she can teach me about psychology, too. I’d like that. To learn something new. Even at my age.
So, New York. Be good to my granddaughter. Give her a good education. Give her a good life. Help her learn psychology. Help her help people. That’s all I ask. For my granddaughter. For her future.
Maybe one day, she will be famous. A famous psychologist from New York. Wouldn’t that be something? My granddaughter. A famous psychologist. I’d be so proud. I’m already proud. But I’d be even more proud. A lot of schools in New York have these psychology programs. I hope she chooses the right one.
I hope she can make a difference. In the world. With psychology. With her kindness. With her smarts. I know she can. I just know it. My granddaughter. She’s something special. And New York, you better know it, too.
