Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to share my little adventure into the world of books lately. I’m not much of a reader, to be honest, but I decided to give it a shot, starting with psychological thriller books. I mean, who doesn’t love a good thrill, right?
First off, I had to figure out where to even start. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing online, trying to find some well-known titles. I found a bunch of websites talking about “best-selling” and “must-read” stuff. “Awesome Books” kept popping up, saying they had a huge selection and good prices. Seemed like a good place to start, I guess.
- Browsed some book websites.
- Found “Awesome Books” with a lot of options.
- Prices seemed okay.
Then, I tried to narrow down my options. I saw something about this year’s thrillers having a “comedic edge.” That sounded interesting, but I wasn’t sure if that was what I wanted. I kept digging. I came across this book called “Misery” by Stephen King. People were saying it was the best psychological thriller overall. The price wasn’t too bad, like 10.99 or something. So, I made a note of that.
Diving Deeper
I wanted to know, like, who the top dog in thriller writing was. Turns out, it’s this guy Dean Koontz. This dude has sold over 500 million books! And they’re in 38 languages. Can you believe that? 16 of his books even hit number one on the bestseller lists. I figured, if he’s that popular, his books must be pretty good, right?
- Learned about Dean Koontz.
- 500 million books sold.
- 38 languages.
- 16 books were #1 bestsellers.
I also found out that thrillers are all about suspense, action, and some dark stuff. That’s pretty much what I expected. So, armed with this basic knowledge, I felt a bit more prepared to actually pick a book and start reading. I decided I’d give “Misery” a shot since it was so highly recommended. I mean, it seemed like a safe bet, and I didn’t want to waste my time on something that wasn’t worth it. And now, I’m excited, but also kind of nervous, to see if I actually like it. I guess we’ll find out! I will keep updating my reading journey.
Update: I got the book! Now to find some quiet time to actually read it…

Update 3: I finished the book, and I am speechless.
