Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here “Book of Enoch Astrology.” I ain’t no scholar, mind you, just a plain ol’ person tryin’ to make sense of things.
What is this Enoch Book Anyway?
Folks keep talkin’ ’bout this “Book of Enoch.” Sounds fancy, right? From what I gather, it’s an old, old book, older than your grandma’s grandma, even! They say it tells stories ’bout angels and stars and all sorts of stuff.
Now, some say this Enoch fella, he went up to heaven and saw things, you know, like how the sun moves and the moon shines. He wrote it all down, or so they say.
Stars and Angels, Oh My!
This book, it talks about angels, but not the nice kind with wings. These angels, they messed up somethin’ fierce. They came down to earth and started teachin’ folks things they shouldn’t know, like star-gazin’ and such.
- Some folks call it astrology,
- Some call it horoscope.
- I just call it lookin’ at the stars and tryin’ to figure stuff out.
Now, this Enoch book, it ain’t too happy about that star-gazin’ stuff. It says those fallen angels, they taught folks how to read the stars, and that was bad news. The book says this star business leads to trouble.
Heavens and Circles and Such
This book, it goes on and on about the heavens. Talks about circles and lights, sun goin’ up, sun goin’ down. It’s like, the sun is on a chariot and wind is pullin’ it. Sounds like a wild ride to me!
They say there are these “great lights” up there, movin’ in circles. Sounds like them planets, you know, like Mars and Venus. I ain’t never seen ‘em up close, but they say they’re somethin’ special.
Persians and Babies and Thrones
And then there’s talk about them Persians. They got their own ideas about the stars. They saw a picture up there, a lady sittin’ on a throne, holdin’ a baby. Said it had somethin’ to do with the stars. Now ain’t that somethin’?
What’s it all Mean?
So, you got this Enoch book, talkin’ ‘bout angels and stars and trouble. You got folks looking up at the sky, tryin’ to see the future. You got Persians drawing pictures in the stars. Makes your head spin, don’t it?
Babylon and Shamash
Now, they talk about this place called Babylon and this sun god named Shamash. Seems like folks way back when were real interested in the sun and stars. And the book tells about one fella who was taught this astrology thing by Shamash and other gods.
This fella, Enmeduranki, he went and learned all about readin’ the stars. Divination, they call it. Sounds mighty powerful to me. Kinda makes you wonder if there’s somethin’ to it, all this star stuff.
Sun and Moon and Measurin’ Things
This here book, it’s all about measurin’ things. How long the day is, how long the night is. Where the sun is in the sky. They got it all figured out, or so they think. They even measure how long you can see the moon, imagine that.
Seems like folks have been lookin’ up at the sky and tryin’ to make sense of it all since the beginnin’ of time. They wanna know what it all means, where we come from, where we’re goin’. And the sun, moon and the stars, they are like clues.
So, is Astrology Good or Bad?
Well, that’s the million dollar question, ain’t it? This Enoch book, it seems to think it’s bad. Says those fallen angels messed things up by teachin’ folks about the stars.
But then you got all these other folks, Persians, Babylonians, and even folks today, who look up at the stars and think they can see somethin’. Think they can see the future or understand the world better.
I ain’t got no answers, mind you. I’m just an old woman tryin’ to make sense of it all, just like you. But this Enoch book, it sure does give you somethin’ to think about. Makes you wonder what’s really goin’ on up there in the sky, and what it all means for us down here on earth. Maybe the stars can tell us somethin’ or maybe they can’t. But it sure is fun to think about, ain’t it?
But I tell you what, don’t go messin’ with fallen angels, that’s for sure. And if you do look at the stars, just remember, they’re just stars. They ain’t gonna tell you everything. You gotta figure some things out for yourself.
