Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “cheapest online doctorate in psychology” thing, and let me tell you, it’s a bit of a wild ride. I needed to level up my career, but going back to school full-time? Not happening with my schedule. So, I started looking into online options, you know, something I could do on my own time.
First, I checked out a bunch of different schools that offer these online PsyD programs. From what I gathered, the prices are all over the place. Some are around $550 per credit, which is, I guess, kind of okay. Others? Over a thousand bucks per credit! Like, seriously? I’m not made of money!
I narrowed it down to a few that seemed somewhat affordable. California Southern University, for example, is one of the cheapest I found, at $545 per credit. Not bad, right? Then there’s the University of Arizona Global Campus, but they’re on the pricier side, over $1,000 per credit. So, yeah, I skipped that one for now.
Then, I spent some time comparing their accreditation. Like, NU is Regionally Accredited by WASC and COAMFTE. Sounds important, right? I wanted to make sure the degree would actually be worth something.
Honestly, the cheapest option would probably be to go to a traditional, on-campus program, full-time, and get some kind of funding or assistantship. But that’s just not realistic for me. I need something I can do part-time while I’m working.
And I also checked Arizona State University – Tempe, they also have this program. But haven’t called them to ask for the price yet. Maybe you guys know it?
So, that’s where I’m at right now. Still looking, still comparing. It’s a lot to take in, but I figure it’s worth it in the long run. I mean, a doctorate in psychology? That’s gotta open some doors, right?
- Checked out different schools and their prices.
- Found California Southern University to be one of the cheapest.
- Skipped the University of Arizona Global Campus due to the high cost.
- Looked into accreditation to make sure the degree is legit.
- Realized a traditional program would be cheaper but not practical for me.
- Checked Arizona State University – Tempe, but need more info.
- Still searching and comparing to make the best decision.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure so far. If any of you have gone through this or have any tips, I’m all ears!
