Alright, so you wanna know about this Angelino Escobar thing in Chicago, huh? Let me tell ya, it ain’t pretty. This here’s a sad story, a real sad story about some young folks and things going wrong.
What happened to Angelino Escobar?
Well, it wasn’t Angelino exactly, see. It was a young gal named Angelina Escobar. Poor thing, just 19 years old. And her fella, Alex Santiago, he was only 24. They found ‘em both shot dead in their apartment, way back in 2009. September 21st, to be exact. Can you believe it? Just kids, really.
They was living up north, in that Albany Park neighborhood, on North Sunnyside. Just starting out their lives, I reckon. Then this fella, Christopher Doehring, they say he busted into their place and shot ‘em. Forced his way in, the police said. Lord have mercy, what a terrible thing to do.
Who’s this Christopher Doehring fella?
Now, this Doehring, he’s a bad egg, that’s for sure. They caught him, eventually. Took ‘em a while, but they got him. Charged him with two counts of murder. They say he had another fella with him, Samuel Parsons-Salas, but I don’t know much about that one. It was Doehring that did the shootin’, they say.
They hauled Doehring in front of a judge, had a bond hearing and all that. I don’t know what happened after that, if he went to jail or what. But I hope they locked him up good and threw away the key. You can’t just go around shootin’ people, especially not young folks like Angelina and Alex.
- Angelina Escobar, 19 years old.
- Alex Santiago, 24 years old.
- Found dead September 21, 2009.
- Shot in their apartment on North Sunnyside, Chicago.
- Christopher Doehring charged with murder.
This here’s a tragedy, plain and simple.
It makes you think, you know? Life’s so precious, and then something like this happens. Two young people, gone just like that. Makes you wanna hold your own young’uns tight, tell ‘em you love ‘em. You never know what tomorrow might bring.
I heard they found Angelina somewhere else too, on South Trumbull Avenue. Maybe that’s where her family lived? Don’t rightly know. But it just breaks your heart, all this violence. Why can’t folks just get along? Why they gotta be hurtin’ each other all the time?
I ain’t got all the details, mind you. I’m just tellin’ you what I heard, what folks was whisperin’ about back then. You can probably find more if you go lookin’ online, or at the courthouse maybe. They got records and such. But it’ll just break your heart, like I said. It ain’t somethin’ you wanna dwell on too much.
So, that’s the story of Angelina Escobar in Chicago.
A young life cut short, a family heartbroken, and a whole lotta sadness left behind. It’s a reminder that life ain’t always fair, and sometimes bad things happen to good people. And it makes you wonder, why? Why her? Why them? But there ain’t no easy answers, is there? Just a whole lotta pain and a whole lotta questions.
And that Christopher Doehring, well, he’s gotta live with what he done. Maybe he don’t care, maybe he’s got no conscience. But I reckon he’ll have to answer for it someday, one way or another. You can’t escape justice forever, that’s what I always say.
So, there you have it. The story of Angelina Escobar, as best as I can tell it. A sad story, a true story, and a story that makes you think about the world and the people in it.
