Alright, let’s talk about this Dali Tarot, whatever that is. I heard some folks mention it, so I figured I’d poke around and see what the fuss is all about. Don’t expect no fancy talk from me, I just say it like I see it.
So, this fella, Dali, sounds like a real character. They say he made these tarot cards. Now, I ain’t never messed with no tarot cards myself, but I seen ’em around. Grandma used to have a deck, said it could tell your fortune. Hmph, mostly just told her she’d be workin’ her fingers to the bone, and she was right about that!
Anyways, this Dali fella, he didn’t just make any old cards, no sir. He went and made ’em all artsy-fartsy. I guess he was a painter or somethin’, used to makin’ them fancy pictures that nobody really understands. And he took that same kinda style and put it on these cards.
- They say he used all sorts of old paintings for inspiration. From way back when, and even some of his own. Sounds like he was a bit of a show-off, if you ask me. But I guess that’s what artists do, right?
- And get this, he put himself and his wife, Gala, right on the cards! He’s the Magician, and she’s the Empress. Can you imagine? Putting your own mug on a deck of cards like that. Sounds like somethin’ my nephew Billy would do, always tryin’ to be the center of attention.
Now, they say these cards are real peculiar. And exquisite, whatever that means. And mystifying, too. Sounds like a whole lotta hooey to me, but folks seem to like ’em. They made ’em back in 1984, limited edition, they say. So, I guess they’re worth somethin’ now, these fancy cards.
They talk about this “Fool” card bein’ real important. Got a black star thingy on it, looks like somethin’ my chickens would peck at. And they say it’s one of the most valuable cards in the game. Go figure. I always thought the fool was the one who spent all their money on things they didn’t need. Like these cards, maybe.
Then there’s this other deck, the Tarot of Marseilles. Sounds French, don’t it? They say it was real popular way back when, over in France and Italy and such. People used to play games with them cards. I guess that’s what they did before they had them fancy video games the kids are always playin’ now.
It seems like this Dali fella, he knew a thing or two about these old cards. He read up on ’em, they say. But he didn’t have enough time to really dig deep. Too busy paintin’ I guess, or maybe posin’ for his own cards! But he used some of that old knowledge when he made his own deck. At least, that’s what they tell me.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this Dali Tarot. Sounds like a bunch of fancy cards made by a fella who liked to show off. But hey, if people like ’em, that’s their business. Me, I’ll stick to my regular ol’ deck of cards, the one I use for playin’ Go Fish with the grandkids. At least I know what those cards mean!
Dali Tarot cards ain’t just for games though. Some folks use them for, you know, figuring out the future or looking into themselves. I guess it’s like looking at them clouds and trying to see shapes, but with fancy pictures instead. Makes about as much sense to me, to be honest.
Now, I ain’t saying it’s all hogwash. People find comfort in different things. Maybe these cards help ’em make sense of the world, or give ’em a little hope. And who am I to say they’re wrong? Long as they ain’t hurtin’ nobody, they can spend their money on whatever they want, even if it’s a deck of cards with a fella posin’ as a magician on ’em.
I heard some folks get real serious about these tarot cards. They study ’em, learn all the meanings, and then they do readings for other folks. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but I guess it’s a job, just like any other. And if you’re good at it, you can probably make a decent livin’. Though I reckon I’ll stick to my gardenin’. At least I know the tomatoes I grow are real, not just some picture on a card.
So, that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell. This Dali made some fancy cards, some folks like ’em, some folks don’t. Just another thing in this world to scratch your head about, I reckon. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my stew.
