Okay, so the other day I was messing around with my tarot deck, and I pulled the Devil card. I’ve always been kinda intrigued by this card, so I decided to really dive in and see what it was all about.

First, I just looked at the card. You know, really examined it. The imagery is pretty intense, right? You’ve got this big, scary-looking devil dude, and these two naked figures chained up below him. It definitely gives off some heavy vibes.
Then, I grabbed my favorite tarot book and started reading up on the traditional meanings. Stuff like addiction, materialism, feeling trapped, being controlled by your desires – you know, the not-so-fun parts of life.
But I didn’t stop there. I wanted to get a feel for the card beyond the book definitions. So, I sat down and meditated on it for a bit. I just closed my eyes, focused on the image, and let any thoughts or feelings come up.
- It felt heavy.
- Shadow of myself.
- I should get rid of bad habits.
I journaled. I mean I wrote down some questions that came to mind while I was looking at the card and meditating. This helped me process my thoughts:

Questions from Journaling
- What “chains” am I wearing right now? Could be habits, relationships, thought patterns, anything.
- Where am I giving away my power?
- What desires are running the show in my life, and are they actually serving me?
After the journaling I did some freewriting, just letting whatever came to mind flow onto the page. It was kinda messy, but it helped me uncover some surprising insights about where I might be holding myself back. I felt some self-judgment. It’s all my fault.
Finally, I pulled a few more cards to see if they could shed any more light on the situation. I asked things like, “What’s the lesson here?” and “How can I break free from these chains?” The other cards gave me some clues about the next steps I could take. They are: making healthier choices and stopped procastinationg.
So, yeah, that was my deep dive into the Devil card. It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, but it was definitely revealing. It showed me some areas where I need to be more mindful and take back my power. It’s all a work in progress, right?
