Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Dior Tarot Coat thing. I ain’t no fancy fashion expert, ya know, just a plain ol’ woman. But I saw this coat, and it got me thinkin’. It’s all about them tarot cards, like the ones them fortune tellers use. This Dior fella, or maybe it’s a gal now, they went and put them cards right on a coat! Can ya believe it?
Now, from what I gather, this ain’t the first time they done somethin’ like this. Seems like back in 2017, they made this real famous coat, the “iconic” they call it, with tarot cards all over it. Took ’em a long time to make it, I heard. Musta been a lot of sewin’ and such. They say it was for some fancy-schmancy show in Paris. Paris, France, ya know, where all them high-falutin’ folks hang out.
And get this, they didn’t just pull these card designs outta thin air. Nope, they went way back, like hundreds of years back, to some fella named Bonifacio Bembo. He made these cards for some Duke way back when. So, Dior, they took them old cards and put ’em on this here coat. It’s like wearin’ history, I guess.
- First off, there’s that blue poncho thing. They call it indigo blue, sounds fancy, right? It’s got this “L’Amoureux” card on it. That’s the Lovers card, I think. Means somethin’ ’bout love and choices, or so I heard. And they made it look all waxy, like them old candles. Said it’s ’cause this Dior fella, the first one, he liked all that symbol stuff.
- Then, just this past year, they done did it again! This time, it’s all about mixin’ and matchin’. Some parts are real busy, with lots of stuff goin’ on, and other parts are real plain and simple. It’s like they can’t make up their minds, ya know? But I guess that’s fashion for ya.
Now, I ain’t gonna lie, I don’t know much about these tarot cards. But I know what I like, and some of them coats are right pretty. All them colors and pictures, they catch your eye. But then some, they just look like a mess. Too much goin’ on, if ya ask me. And the prices? Don’t even get me started! You could buy a whole farm with the money they charge for one of them coats. It’s highway robbery, I tell ya!
But I guess that’s how it is with them fancy clothes. They ain’t made for folks like me. They’re for them city folks with their big money and their fancy parties. Me, I’m happy with my old sweater and jeans. At least I know they’ll keep me warm, and I don’t have to worry about gettin’ ’em dirty.
Still, it’s kinda interestin’ to see what them designers come up with. And this Dior Tarot Coat, it’s somethin’ else, that’s for sure. It’s like wearin’ a story, or maybe a puzzle. And who knows, maybe it’ll bring ya good luck. Or maybe it’ll just make ya look like a fool. Either way, it’s got people talkin’, and I guess that’s the whole point, ain’t it? They want ya to notice ’em, them Dior folks. And with them crazy coats, they sure do a good job of it.
So, that’s my two cents on this Dior Tarot Coat. Take it or leave it. I ain’t no expert, just a woman who sees things for what they are. And what I see is a bunch of fancy clothes with some old cards on ’em. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, well, I reckon that’s up to you to decide.
I heard tell this fella, or maybe gal again, Maria Grazia Chiuri is the one makin’ these fancy clothes now. She’s the one mixin’ up all them different styles. Maximal and minimal, they call it. Sounds like a whole lot of nothin’ to me, but what do I know? I just wear what keeps me warm and covered up. But these fancy designers, they gotta keep changin’ things up, keep folks interested. Otherwise, nobody’d buy their stuff, I guess.
And let me tell ya, these ain’t just any ol’ coats. They use fancy fabrics, stuff I never even heard of. And they sew ’em up real careful-like. They gotta, seein’ as how much they charge for ’em. If I paid that much for a coat, I’d expect it to last forever! But I bet them city folks, they just wear ’em a few times and then throw ’em away. Wasteful, if ya ask me. But that’s their business, I suppose.
So, there ya have it. My thoughts on the Dior Tarot Coat. It’s fancy, it’s expensive, and it’s got them tarot cards all over it. If you like that kinda thing, then go for it. Me, I’ll stick to my old clothes. They’re comfortable, they’re practical, and they don’t cost an arm and a leg. And that’s good enough for me.
