Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dive deeper into the tarot scene here in Austin, and today I finally made some moves. It all started with a simple question: where can I find some cool tarot cards and maybe even get a reading?
First Steps: The Hunt Begins
I started, where else, but with a little searching on my phone. I typed in “tarot cards Austin TX,” and a bunch of places popped up. I gotta admit, I was a little overwhelmed at first, but I saw a few names that kept appearing and decided to dig a bit more.
Checking Out Some Shops
I’m a big fan of supporting local businesses, so I looked for shops that seemed, you know, authentic. I looked at some photos online of some of the stores, got the adresses, and headed to the stores.
- The first shop I went to was super cute and crammed with all sorts of crystals, incense, and, of course, tarot decks. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing. The selection was amazing! They had decks with all kinds of artwork, from traditional Rider-Waite styles to some really wild, modern interpretations.
Making a Choice (This Was Hard!)
I ended up picking a deck that just felt right in my hands. It’s difficult to explain, really. You can find these decks in a lot of the shops around. I picked a deck with imagery that I just vibed with, and the cards themselves felt good, not too flimsy or anything. I’m stoked to start learning with them!
Looking Ahead
It seems like Austin has a lot of cool places to check out if you’re into tarot, and even find some people who can read for you, I think my next step is to learn the card’s basics and try practicing on myself. I saw some people offering reading services in a few shops, I’ll defintely go back and see how I feel with the cards, and if it’s too hard, well, guess I’ll go pay for a professional reading.
