Okay, so I’ve been looking into getting a Master’s in Psychology, and Drexel’s program caught my eye. I mean, who wouldn’t want to study in Philly, right? Anyway, I decided to give this whole application thing a shot. Let me tell you, it was quite the ride.
First things first, I headed over to their website. You know, the usual drill – checked out the program details, admission requirements, all that jazz. Seemed pretty standard. Gotta have a Bachelor’s degree, maintain a decent GPA, and write a killer personal statement. Easy peasy, or so I thought.
Gathering all the required documents was like a scavenger hunt. Got my transcripts from my undergrad, which took forever. Then, I had to bug a couple of my old professors for letters of recommendation. You know how it is, trying to remind them who you are after all these years. It was a bit of a hassle, but I managed to get them in the end. Phew!
Then came the dreaded personal statement. I spent days staring at a blank page, trying to figure out how to explain my passion for psychology and why Drexel was the perfect fit for me. I wrote, deleted, rewrote, and repeated that process like a million times. It felt like I was trying to write the next great American novel, not a simple essay. Finally, after much agonizing, I came up with something I was somewhat happy with.
- Sent in my application online.
- Paid the application fee.
- Crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.
The waiting game was the worst part. I checked my email like every five minutes. Every time I got a new message, my heart skipped a beat. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I got the email.
I hesitated for a second before opening it. Took a deep breath and clicked. And guess what? I got in! I couldn’t believe it. All that hard work actually paid off. I was jumping around my room like a little kid. I called my parents, my friends, everyone I could think of. I was going to Drexel!
So, yeah, that’s my story of applying to Drexel’s MS Psychology program. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, a ton of work, but totally worth it in the end. Now, I’m getting ready to move to Philly and start this new chapter of my life. I’m super excited and a little nervous, but mostly just excited. Wish me luck!
