So, I’ve been hearing a lot about this thing called “energy psychology,” and honestly, it sounded a bit out there at first. But I’m always up for trying new things, especially when it comes to feeling better, so I dove in. Here’s how it went down.
Starting My Journey into Energy Psychology
First, I hit up the internet, just to get a basic idea of what I was getting into. Turns out, there’s a whole bunch of different techniques under the energy psychology umbrella. I decided to start with something called Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT. It seemed pretty straightforward, and there were tons of videos about it.
I found this one basic video that explained the whole process. Basically, you tap on specific points on your body while focusing on a problem you’re dealing with. Sounds weird, I know, but I was willing to give it a shot.
I decided to try it out with this nagging anxiety I’ve been having about work. So, I sat down in a quiet spot, took a few deep breaths, and started tapping.
My First EFT Session
- Setup: I started by saying an affirmation: “Even though I have this anxiety about work, I deeply and completely accept myself.” I said it three times while rubbing the side of my hand.
- Tapping Sequence: Then I started tapping through the points: top of the head, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, collarbone, and under the arm. While tapping each point, I just kept repeating a phrase related to my anxiety, like “this work anxiety.”
- Going Through the Motions: I did a few rounds of this, just tapping and repeating. At first, I felt a bit silly, but after a while, I started to notice something. My anxiety didn’t feel as intense. It was still there, but it was like someone had turned down the volume.
Keeping at It
I kept practicing EFT every day for a week. I even started using it for other stuff, like stress about family or just general overwhelm. And you know what? It actually seemed to be helping. It wasn’t a magic cure or anything, but it definitely took the edge off things. I found I was able to handle my anxiety better.
Exploring Other Techniques
After getting comfortable with EFT, I decided to branch out and try some other energy psychology techniques. I read about something called Thought Field Therapy (TFT), which seemed similar to EFT but with different tapping sequences for different issues. I also watched some videos about a method that involves eye movements, but I haven’t tried that one yet.
TFT felt a bit more complicated, with specific sequences for different emotions, but I found some good resources online that explained it all. After a couple of weeks, I started incorporating TFT into my routine as well, using it for more specific emotional challenges.
Where I’m At Now
It’s been a few months now, and I’m still using these techniques regularly. I wouldn’t say I’m a completely different person, but I definitely feel more in control of my emotions. When something stressful happens, I have these tools I can use to calm myself down and process things. For me, it has been great to practice some of these energy psychology techniques to manage my mental issues.
I’m still exploring, and there’s a lot more to learn. But so far, this whole energy psychology thing has been a pretty positive experience. It’s not about ignoring your problems or pretending they don’t exist. It’s about giving yourself a way to work through them, to release the emotional charge, and to find a bit more peace. And honestly, who couldn’t use a little more of that?
