Diving In
First, I googled it, just to get the basic info. Where is it? When is it? What’s it all about? The website was a little overwhelming at first. Lots of fancy words and academic talk, but I persevered.
I learned it’s happening this year, which is great! I then started looking at the different topics they were going to cover. Things like happiness, well-being, resilience, and even stuff about mindfulness. It all sounded pretty interesting, to be honest.
Making a Plan
Now, I’m not going to pretend I understood everything on the website, but I did not give up. I focused on the parts that seemed most relevant to me. The sessions on practical tools for everyday happiness really caught my eye.I started my focus on the parts that seemed most relevant to me.
I thought, “Okay, even if I just pick up one or two new things, it’ll be worth it.”So, I created a simple schedule for myself, I did not write down all the talks and workshops that I wanted to virtually “attend” (since it’s all online, which is super convenient). I want to make sure I don’t miss those.

Taking Action and Feeling Good
Today, I attended my first session. I have to tell you, It was actually really inspiring! The speaker was talking about the power of gratitude, and how something as simple as writing down three good things each day can make a big difference.
I decided to give it a try. I grabbed a notebook and jotted down three things I was grateful for. And you know what? It felt good. It made me realize how much I actually have to be thankful for.
I set a reminder on my phone to do it every day. It’s a small thing, but I’m hoping it’ll have a positive impact. I am also look forward to the other sessions I marked down. There’s one on building stronger relationships that I’m particularly interested in.
So yeah, that’s my experience with the European Conference on Positive Psychology so far. I am taking it one step at a time, and I am hoping that I get more things from this conference.
