Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this idea of learning more about experimental psychology. I figured, why not try one of those online courses? I mean, it’s all the rage these days, right? Learn from home, at your own pace, all that jazz.

Finding the Right Course
First things first, I started by just googling “experimental psychology online course”. I know, super original. But hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? I got a bunch of results, some from universities, some from those online learning platforms. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
So, I spent a good chunk of time just clicking through different options. I read descriptions, checked out syllabuses (when they were available), and tried to get a feel for what each course offered. Some were super theoretical, others were more hands-on, some were short, some were long… you get the picture.
Making a Choice
After a few hours of this, I narrowed it down to a couple that seemed interesting. One was from a well-known university, but it was pretty pricey. The other was on one of those learning platforms, and it was much more affordable. And It has a lot of good reviews, too.
I ended up going with the more affordable option, mainly because, I figured I could always try another one later if I didn’t like it. Plus, I was a little nervous about jumping into something super intense right away.

Diving In
Once I signed up, I started poking around the course website. It was pretty well-organized. The course materials were broken down into modules, with videos, readings, and quizzes. Pretty standard stuff.
I began working my way through the first few modules. The videos were… okay. The instructor was a bit monotone, but the content was interesting enough. I found myself taking notes and pausing the videos a lot to really absorb the information.
- The readings were a mix of textbook excerpts and research articles.
- Some of the articles were pretty dense, but I managed to get through them.
- The quizzes were helpful for checking my understanding.
My experience and result
I am still doing this course and it takes time to learn and understand, I’ll probably keep chipping away at it a little bit each day. I feel it is worth to learn and I am happy I found this course.
So yeah, that’s my journey into the world of online experimental psychology courses so far. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m enjoying it for the most part. who knows, maybe I’ll become a psychology expert after all! Just kidding (mostly).
