Okay, so today I’m diving into this whole “citi psychology” thing. I’ve heard bits and pieces about it, figured it’s time to see what the fuss is all about.
Getting Started
First off, I tried to get a handle on what this even means. I mean, “citi” is a big financial thing, right? And psychology is all about how our minds tick. So, what do they have in common? Turns out, it’s all about training people in the right way to do research. You know, making sure everything’s on the up and up, ethical, and all that jazz.
I decided to check out these courses they talk about. It wasn’t like signing up for a fun weekend class, more like, “Okay, here are the rules, don’t mess up.” They had different courses depending on what your “affiliation” is. I guess that’s just a fancy word for where you work or study. I picked one that seemed to fit and started digging in.
The Learning Curve
The courses were, let’s just say, not exactly a thrill a minute. Lots of stuff about how to do research with people or animals without being a jerk, basically. It went into how you’re supposed to use the money for research too, which, I guess, is pretty important. No using it for a new video game console, even if it would help you “research” how fun it is, ha!
I plowed through the modules, answering questions and trying to stay awake. It wasn’t super hard, just a lot of information. I did learn some things, though. Like, there are actual rules about this stuff, not just, “Hey, be nice.”
More Than Just Citi
While I was poking around, I saw that psychology is a whole big world beyond these citi courses. There are places offering therapy, which is cool. And there are lists of professional therapists. Some places want you to have an undergraduate degree in psychology, others not so much. It seems like a whole variety of things related to psychology.
My Takeaway
So, after all that, here’s my simple understanding. These citi psychology courses, they’re like a rule book for doing research the right way. And there are other aspects related to psychology, like getting help from a therapist. It’s more important than I thought, I guess. Not just for scientists in labs but for regular folks too. That’s my adventure in the world of citi psychology. Not exactly a wild ride, but hey, I learned something new.
