Okay, so I’ve been digging into this “Exploring Psychology in Modules” by Myers, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I wanted to get a better handle on, well, psychology, and figured this would be a decent starting point. I’ve always found the human mind kind of fascinating, you know?

First thing I did was grab the book. Seemed obvious, right? Then, I flipped through it to get a feel for the layout. It’s broken down into these modules, which is kind of nice, makes it feel less overwhelming than one giant textbook. It’s like, little bite-sized chunks of information.
I decided to start with the first module, which was all about the history and different perspectives in psychology. I have to read them to understand, I am not a genius. Reading stuff about the early philosophers and then moving into behaviorism and cognitive psychology. It was a lot to take in, honestly.
My note-taking
- I started taking notes. Not just copying stuff down, but trying to put things in my own words. Like, summarizing the main ideas of each school of thought.
- I also tried to connect what I was reading to my own experiences. Like, “Oh, that’s why I do that!” or “I’ve seen my friends act that way before.” That seemed to help things stick a bit better.
After working through a few modules, I took a break and went back to review my notes. See if it all still made sense. I even tried explaining some of the concepts to my cat. He wasn’t very interested, but it helped me process the information a little more, I think.
I’m still working my way through the book, module by module. It’s not something you can rush through, at least not for me. But I’m definitely learning some new things, and it’s making me think about people and behaviors in a different way. I feel I can understand some psychology concepts.

I plan to keep plugging away at it, maybe a module or two a week. Slow and steady wins the race, right? And I’ll definitely keep sharing my thoughts as I go. Maybe it’ll inspire someone else to pick up the book and learn something new too.
