Okay, so, I got this idea the other day to make some horoscope sign bracelets. I’m not really into astrology myself, but I know a lot of people who are, and I thought it would be a fun project. Plus, I figured they’d make pretty cool gifts.
First, I needed to get some supplies. I went to a local craft store and picked up some beads, charms, and elastic cord. I made sure to get beads in different colors that, I think, represent each zodiac sign, like red for Aries, green for Taurus, and so on. I also got some silver and gold charms with the zodiac symbols. I grabed some of those little tools for jewelry making, too. I already had a few at home, but not everything I needed.
Once I had everything, I started by laying out the beads and charms for each sign. I did a quick search online to see what colors and symbols were usually associated with each sign. It was actually kinda interesting learning about it, even though I don’t really believe in it. Like, did you know that Geminis are supposed to be, like, super adaptable and curious?
Starting to Make the Bracelets
Then, I started to put the bracelets together. I cut the elastic cord to the right length, leaving a bit extra for tying. I measured my own wrist and then added a couple of inches. Stringing the beads was easy enough, but it got a little tricky when I added the charms. I wanted to make sure they were centered and facing the right way.
- Step 1: Cut the elastic cord, leaving extra for tying.
- Step 2: String the beads in the desired color pattern.
- Step 3: Add the zodiac charm, ensuring it’s centered.
- Step 4: Tie off the bracelet with a secure knot.
- Step 5: Trim the excess cord.
The first one I made was a Cancer bracelet, because my best friend is a Cancer. I used these pretty, light blue beads and a little silver crab charm. It turned out really nice, if I do say so myself! It actually looks kinda professional. My friend loved the one I made for her. I think she wears it every day. It is a good gift. I did this for the rest of the signs too, I’ve made a few for each one, like, three Aries bracelets, four Taurus ones, and so on.
After I finished making a bunch of bracelets, I took some photos and posted them on my social media. I wasn’t really expecting much, but people seemed to really like them! I even got a few orders from friends and family, which was a nice surprise. A couple of them even asked for custom ones with different bead colors, which was cool. I could see this becoming a regular side hustle. I don’t know, it was more work than I expected.
Overall, it was a really fun and rewarding project. I learned a bit about astrology, made some cool bracelets, and even made a little extra cash. Not bad for a weekend project! I’d definitely recommend trying it out if you’re looking for a creative and personalized gift idea. You can find all kinds of different beads and charms to make each bracelet unique. And who knows, you might even discover a hidden talent for jewelry making! I am thinking of trying to make necklaces next. Those might be harder, though. We’ll see. I’ve also been thinking about those friendship bracelets you make with embroidery floss. Maybe I’ll try that next weekend.
