Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I mean, who knew these little pieces of cardstock could stir up so much, right? Here is what I did.
Got the Cards
First things first, I grabbed a deck. Didn’t go for anything fancy, just a standard Rider-Waite deck I picked up from a local bookstore. They’re colorful and have these weird, symbolic pictures on them, which is kinda cool, I guess.
Figured Out the Basics
Next, I did some reading. Not like, intense study, but I skimmed through the little booklet that came with the deck and browsed a few websites. Just enough to get a basic idea of what each card is supposed to mean. It was a lot to remember, but I figured I’d learn as I go.
Shuffled and Dealt
Then came the fun part – shuffling. I’m not gonna lie, I felt a little silly at first. Like, am I really doing this? But I shuffled those cards like my life depended on it, focused on a question I had in my mind. Something simple, like, “What should I focus on this week?” After shuffling, I cut the deck into three piles and then put them back together. I spread the cards out face down and started picking. I was going to have the cards interpreted after laying them out according to a pattern I had in mind. But then I thought, what the heck. I decided to just go with the flow and picked three cards. No fancy spread, just three cards laid out in a row.
My First Reading
Okay, so I flipped over the cards. I got The Magician, The Lovers reversed, and The Star. According to the book, The Magician is about resourcefulness, The Lovers is about relationships (duh), and The Star is about hope and inspiration. It’s interesting that The Lovers card was reversed. Honestly, at first, I was like, “What the heck does this mean?” I grabbed the booklet again and read through the descriptions, trying to connect the dots. It took me a while, but I eventually came up with an interpretation that kinda made sense for my question. And the reversed Lovers was probably something about not forcing relationships or something like that.
Repeat and Reflect
I kept doing these little readings, sometimes for myself, sometimes for my friends. They were usually pretty vague, but sometimes, they were surprisingly on point. It was weird. I’m still not sure if it’s just coincidence or if there’s something more to it. It is a simple process.
I need to provide my questions, shuffle the cards, lay them out according to a pattern, and interpret them.
At the end of the day, whether you believe in it or not, Tarot is a cool tool for self-reflection. It gets you thinking about things from different angles. And who knows, maybe there’s some magic in those cards after all. Or maybe it’s just the magic of taking some time to think about your life. Either way, I’m keeping my deck handy. I might try one of those fancy spreads next time. We’ll see.
