Alright, so the other day I decided to give this tarot reading thing a shot. I’ve always been a bit curious, you know? So I got myself a deck, a simple one. I found a quiet spot in my house, you know, where I could just chill and not be bothered. I sat down, took a few deep breaths to get myself centered. I just held the cards in my hands, trying to get a feel for them.
Then I started thinking about what I really wanted to ask. I mean, there are tons of things I could ask, but I wanted my question to be meaningful, something that I really cared about. I spent some time just pondering, not rushing it. And then it hit me. I wanted to ask about my career path, which has been on my mind a lot lately. I decided on my question, something open-ended like, “What should I focus on to advance in my career?” I made sure to not ask yes-or-no questions as the internet suggests.
With my question in mind, I began to shuffle the cards. I’m not gonna lie, I felt a bit awkward at first, since I’m no card shuffling expert. But I just went with it, focusing on my question, trying to really concentrate. I shuffled for a couple of minutes, just letting my thoughts flow with the cards.
-
Step 1: Pick a quiet spot and get relaxed
-
Step 2: Formulate the question in your mind
-
Step 3: Shuffle and concentrate on the question
-
Step 4: Draw the cards
-
Step 5: Ponder what the cards tell you
When I felt like it was time, I cut the deck into three piles and then put them back together in a different order. After that, I spread the cards out in front of me face down. I hovered my hand over them, and just picked one that felt right. I turned it over and there it was.
I spent some time looking at the card, taking in the imagery and the words. I tried to relate it back to my question. What could this card be telling me about my career? I jotted down some notes, my initial thoughts, and any insights that came to mind. I didn’t expect to have all the answers right away, but it was a start.
Afterward, I gathered the cards, thanked them in my mind because why not, and put them away. I decided I’d come back to my notes later, maybe after a few days, to see if anything new came to me. Overall, it was a pretty interesting experience. I’m not sure if I’m a full believer yet, but it definitely gave me some things to think about.
Anyway, that’s how my tarot reading session went. It wasn’t some big, dramatic event, just a simple moment of reflection. I might try it again sometime, maybe with a different question, or when I’m feeling particularly stuck on something. It’s like a little tool for self-reflection, and honestly, it was kind of fun. And there are some cards that can signal abundance, like The Empress.
