Alright, so today I wanted to talk about something a bit different, something that I recently tried out – a Litha tarot spread. Now, I’m no expert, but I find this stuff pretty fascinating and thought it would be cool to share my experience.
So, Litha, it’s the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Apparently, it’s a big deal in some circles, marking a shift in nature and all that. Celebrations start around June 20th and it is said to last a few days. I figured, why not give it a go and see what the cards have to say?
Getting Started
First off, I got my tarot deck ready. I gave it a good shuffle, just like you would do with playing cards, trying to get my mind clear and focus on what I wanted to ask. Some people have fancy rituals, but I just try to keep it simple. After shuffling, I cut the deck into three piles and then put them back together. It’s all about making it personal, you know?
Laying Out the Cards
Next, I laid out the cards. There are tons of different spreads you can use – from a simple one-card draw to more complex ones with five, seven, or even more cards. For this Litha spread, I went with a five-card layout that I found seemed pretty straightforward. Each position of the card is supposed to represent something different, like your current situation, challenges, opportunities, and so on.
Interpreting the Cards
This is where it gets interesting. I drew the first card and placed it in the center. It was supposed to represent the energy of Litha. I got the Sun card, which I thought was pretty fitting for the Summer Solstice. It seemed to indicate positivity, vitality, and all that good stuff.
Then I drew the other four cards and placed them around the center card. Each one had its own meaning. The second card, to the left of the center, was about challenges. I got the Tower, which, to be honest, freaked me out a bit. It usually signifies some sort of upheaval or major change. But I tried to look at it as a chance for growth, you know, like tearing down the old to make way for the new.
The third card, to the right, was about opportunities. I pulled the Star, which felt reassuring after the Tower. It suggested hope, inspiration, and guidance. It seemed like even though there might be challenges, there are also good things on the horizon.
The fourth card, at the top, was about what I need to release. I got the Hanged Man. This one was a bit tricky to interpret, but I took it to mean that I might need to let go of old patterns or ways of thinking that aren’t serving me anymore. Maybe it’s time to see things from a different perspective.
The last card, at the bottom, was about what I should embrace. I drew the Empress, which seemed to point towards nurturing, creativity, and abundance. It felt like a call to embrace my own power and potential, to really step into my own as the days start to get shorter after the Solstice.
Reflecting on the Spread
After laying out all the cards and thinking about what they might mean, I just sat there for a while, reflecting. It’s not about predicting the future or anything like that. For me, it’s more about gaining insights and maybe seeing things from a different angle.
Some folks might think it’s all a bunch of hooey, and that’s fine. But I find it to be a fun and sometimes thought-provoking way to check in with myself. It’s like a little ritual that helps me to focus my thoughts and intentions.
In the end, whether you believe in tarot or not, I think there’s something valuable in taking a moment to reflect on where you are and where you want to go. And if the cards help you do that, then why not?
So, that was my Litha tarot spread experience. It was interesting, a little bit spooky, and definitely gave me some things to think about. If you’ve ever tried a tarot spread, I’d love to hear about your experience. And if you haven’t, maybe give it a shot sometime. You might be surprised at what you discover!
