OK, guys, so I’ve been wanting to make my own tarot deck for a while now. It just seems like a cool project, you know? Plus, I like the idea of having a deck that’s totally unique and personal to me. So, I finally decided to give it a shot.
First, I thought about what kind of theme or style I wanted for my deck. I mean, there are so many possibilities! I spent a few days just brainstorming and looking at different tarot decks online for inspiration. Then I have an idea, which is to make a deck with my own drawings, maybe a deck of playing cards, uno cards, or even use stamps and such, just like what I saw on a youtube video. This will be a lot of fun and the theme will be so unique. I decided to go with a sort of nature-inspired theme, with lots of plants and animals, because that’s what I’m into.
Next, I needed to figure out how I was actually going to make the cards. I considered just drawing directly onto some blank cardstock, but I’m not the best artist. I do not want to make it too complicated, so I decided to draw a rectangle first, and then fill in the middle of the card with a picture and title it. What is more, I will add a border to the card and some details, finally the magic details and shading. I can hand that. I found some websites like Canva and others that let you design your own cards using their templates. That seemed like a good option, so I picked one that had some designs I liked and started playing around with it.
This is the fun part! I started by choosing the template I liked for each card. Then, I added my own text and images. I tried to keep the traditional meanings of the cards in mind, but I also wanted to put my own spin on things. It took a while to do all 78 cards, but it was a lot of fun seeing my ideas come to life. It is so easy, trust me, just follow the step-by-step tutorial I mentioned above, you can make your own tarot deck as well.
Once I was happy with the designs, I downloaded all the card images from the website. Then I have to get them printed. But I realized that I might have to order them online, which could take a while, and might even have to pay a bit more for shipping. It will be a long wait, but it will be worth it.
I guess I have to wait a few days. But hey, making your own tarot deck is totally doable, and it’s a really rewarding experience. I can’t wait to try it out and see what people think! If you’re thinking about it, I say go for it! It’s a fun project, and you end up with a deck that’s truly your own.
