Today, I finally got some time and decided to learn about tarot cards. I found an online tutorial called “Tarot Academy” and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I grabbed a deck of tarot cards that I bought a while ago but never really used. They were just sitting there, gathering dust. I opened the box and flipped through the cards. They looked pretty cool, but I had no clue what they meant. So I started with the basics, learning about the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. It felt like a lot to take in, all these different suits and symbols.
I followed the lessons in the academy, which were surprisingly easy to understand. They broke down each card, explaining its meaning and symbolism. I learned that the Major Arcana cards represent major life events and themes, while the Minor Arcana cards deal with everyday situations. It was kind of like learning a new language, but a mystical one.
Getting into the Nitty-Gritty
Then I got into the actual readings. The academy taught me a few basic spreads, like the three-card spread and the Celtic Cross. I practiced shuffling the cards, which was harder than it looked. I kept dropping them! But eventually, I got the hang of it. I laid out the cards according to the spreads and tried to interpret them based on what I had learned.
- I did a three-card spread for myself, focusing on my career.
- The first card was the “Magician” which apparently means new beginnings. Interesting.
- The second card was the “Seven of Cups”, which is about choices and illusions.
- And the third card, the “World”, symbolized completion and success.
Honestly, it was a bit confusing at first, trying to piece together the meanings. But the more I practiced, the more it started to make sense. I even did a few readings for my friends, just for fun. They were pretty amazed, and so was I! It felt like I was tapping into something ancient and mysterious.
By the end of the day, I felt like I had actually learned something new and cool. Tarot cards weren’t just pretty pictures; they were a tool for self-reflection and maybe even a little bit of guidance. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and see where this tarot journey takes me. It’s a wild ride, but hey, that’s what makes it fun, right?
