Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called a Kabbalistic astrology chart. It’s like, a mix of regular astrology, you know, with the planets and stuff, and this other thing called Kabbalah, which is some kind of old Jewish mystical system. I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot and see what all the fuss was about.
First, I had to find a “Kabbalah Astrology Calculator”. You just punch in your birthday and it spits out your “star sign,” but it’s not just like, “Oh, you’re a Leo.” It ties it into something called the “tree of life,” which looks like a weird diagram with a bunch of circles and lines. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I thought, you know what just try it.
After I got my chart, I started digging around to figure out what it all meant. So many websites with a ton of info. I used a calculator and also looked at a bunch of websites to figure it all out. It’s a trip, let me tell you. Each planet, like Saturn (they call it “shabtai”), Venus (“nogah”), and all those, they’re not just floating around in space. They’re linked to those circles on the tree of life, and each circle represents some deep concept about your soul and your personality.
I read that some people think astrology is just a load of bunk, a “superstitious belief”. But others, especially those into Kabbalah, swear it’s a legit tool for understanding yourself better. They say it shows you your inner nature and helps you put that knowledge to use in the “real world.” That sounded pretty good to me, I’m not gonna lie.
There’s even some debate about whether it’s okay for Jews to use astrology. I found out that some old-school Jewish law books, like the Arba’ah Turim, talk about it. One guy, Maimonides, his views are in there. Then there’s this other dude, Joseph Karo, who quotes Nahmanides in one book but says consulting an astrologer is a no-no in another. It’s all very confusing.
- Step 1: Found a Kabbalah Astrology Calculator online.
- Step 2: Entered my birth date into the calculator.
- Step 3: Got my Kabbalistic astrology chart with my “star sign” and the tree of life.
- Step 4: Started researching the meaning of the planets and their positions on the tree of life.
- Step 5: Read about the different opinions on astrology, especially in Jewish tradition.
Anyway, I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole Kabbalistic astrology thing. It’s like, a whole new language to learn. But it’s definitely interesting, and I can see why some people get really into it. Maybe it’s all nonsense, or maybe there’s something to it. Who knows? I guess I’ll keep exploring and see where it takes me.
My Progress So Far
I’ve managed to figure out my basic chart and what the different planets are supposed to mean. I’m starting to get a sense of how they relate to each other and to the different parts of the tree of life. It’s slow going, but I’m making progress.
I’m still not sure what I think about the whole thing, but it’s definitely given me something to ponder. I mean, the idea that the stars and planets could have some kind of influence on our lives is pretty wild. And when you add in all this Kabbalah stuff, it gets even wilder. I can see why I’m not the only one who’s interested in this stuff.
I’ll probably keep messing around with it for a while, just for kicks. Maybe I’ll learn something about myself, maybe I won’t. Either way, it’s been a fun little project. And I’m definitely more interested in learning a bunch of things and sharing them with you all, so I will keep learning.
