Okay, so I tried this thing called “Herbal Tarot” the other day, and I gotta say, it was pretty interesting. I’ve always been into tarot cards, but I’m also getting into herbs and their different properties. So when I heard about combining the two, I was like, “Sign me up!”
First, I had to get my stuff together. I already had a tarot deck that I really like, so that was good. Then, I went to my local herb shop and just went wild. I grabbed some herbs that I’ve read are good for intuition, like lavender and mugwort. I also picked up some others that seemed interesting, just to experiment with.
- Lavender: For calming and intuition.
- Mugwort: For psychic stuff and dreams.
- Rosemary: For memory and clarity, that seemed useful.
- Cinnamon: For a little energy boost, figured it couldn’t hurt.
Next, I needed to figure out how to actually use the herbs with the cards. I decided to start simple. I made some tea with the lavender and mugwort, thinking it would help me relax and get in the right headspace. While the tea was brewing, I laid out my tarot cards and just kind of looked at them. I picked a few cards that I felt drawn to and set them aside.
Once the tea was ready, I sat down with my cards and my warm cup. I sipped the tea slowly, trying to really focus on the flavors and the feeling of it. Then, I started my reading. I did a simple three-card spread: past, present, future. As I turned over each card, I tried to connect the meaning of the card with the properties of the herbs I was drinking.
It was a trip! I found that the tea really did help me focus and feel more connected to my intuition. The meanings of the cards seemed to come to me more easily, and I felt like I was getting a deeper understanding of the messages they were trying to tell me. It felt like the herbs and the cards were working together. I was surprised by how much I could remember about each card’s meaning, too. Maybe the rosemary helped with that? Ha!
After the reading, I felt really relaxed and centered. It was a nice change of pace from my usual tarot readings. I definitely want to keep experimenting with this herbal tarot thing. Maybe next time I’ll try burning some herbs as incense or using essential oils. There are so many possibilities!
This is what I got from my three-card spread:
- Past: The Hermit – Makes sense, I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching lately.
- Present: The Star – Feeling hopeful and inspired, definitely!
- Future: The World – Wow, completion and wholeness. I’m excited!
I feel like the herbs really amplified the reading. It’s like they opened up a channel to my intuition or something. Who knows, maybe I’m just being weird, but it felt real to me.
Anyways, that’s my herbal tarot story for now. If you’re into tarot or herbs, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s a fun and interesting way to deepen your practice and explore the connections between these two worlds. I’m gonna go brew another cup of that tea!
