Today I messed around with something called “Lindemans Tarot Noir”. It sounded kinda fancy and mysterious, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I’ve always been curious about this tarot stuff, seeing it in movies and all. Seemed like a fun way to kill an afternoon, and who knows, maybe learn a little something about myself in the process. Or at least have a good laugh.
First things first, I had to actually get my hands on these cards. I didn’t own a deck, you know I did a quick search online. I got a deck called “Lindemans Tarot Noir.” The name sounded interesting, and the pictures looked cool and dark, which I liked.
Getting Started
Now, I’m no expert, not even close. I literally knew nothing about tarot reading. So, I went online again and just typed in “how to read tarot cards.” I spent some time clicking around, reading, and watching videos from various websites, just trying to get the basic idea. Most of the advice was pretty simple: shuffle the cards, focus on a question, and pick a card. Sounds easy enough, right?
My First Reading
I decided to start with something simple, a one-card reading. I shuffled the deck, trying to look like I knew what I was doing. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and thought about a simple question: “What should I focus on today?” I spread the cards out face down on the table and picked one. I flipped it over. It was some card, and to be honest, I can’t even remember which one it was now. But I do remember it had a picture that looked, well, kinda dark and gloomy, a bit like a woman in an old dress, looking intense, or maybe sad. Who knows.
Figuring it Out
Of course, just seeing the picture didn’t tell me much. So, I went back to those websites and found a bunch of different meanings for each card. It was kind of overwhelming, all these interpretations. I read through a few of them for the card I picked. Some talked about intuition, some about hidden emotions, and others about facing challenges. Honestly, it was a bit confusing.
Trying Again
I figured maybe one card wasn’t enough. So, I tried a few more times, doing simple three-card readings. This is where things got a little more interesting. Each time, I’d pick three cards, lay them out, and try to see if there was a story or connection between them. It was like trying to solve a little puzzle.
What I Think
After spending a few hours with these cards, I realized it’s not as easy as it looks in the movies. It’s not like the cards magically give you all the answers. It’s more about using them as a way to think about things from a different perspective. I don’t know if I “believe” in tarot, but it was definitely an interesting experience. It made me think about my questions in a different way, and maybe even see things I hadn’t considered before.
- Will I become a tarot expert? Probably not.
- Was it a fun way to spend an afternoon? Definitely.
- Would I try it again? Maybe. It’s kind of like a weird little game you can play with yourself.
And hey, at the very least, I got to look at some cool pictures and use my imagination for a while. Not a bad way to spend a day, if you ask me.
