Alright, so the other day I got this idea to make a Mayan astrology chart. It sounded pretty cool, and I figured, why not give it a shot? So, I started digging around to learn what this whole Mayan astrology thing is about.
Turns out, it’s all tied to these calendars they used, the Tzolk’in and the Haab’. The Tzolk’in calendar has 20-day signs and 13 numbers, and the Haab’ is more like the calendar we use, but it’s not really important for the birth chart.
First off, I had to find out my birth date in the Mayan calendar. I found these different glyphs, like, each one means something different. They say these glyphs can tell you a bunch about yourself – your personality, your strengths, and even the stuff you might struggle with.
To start making the chart, I had to put together my Tzolk’in birth date. There are two parts to it – a number from 1 to 13 and a day sign. Using my regular birth date, I figured out these two. The number and the sign together make up what they call your “Galactic Signature.”
Getting Into the Details
Once I had my Galactic Signature, I started looking into what each part means. There are 20-day signs in total, and each one has its own vibe. Like, some are about being a leader, some are about being creative, and others are about being wise. The number part adds another layer to it, changing the meaning a bit.
Here’s a list of the 20-day signs, just to give you an idea:
- Alligator
- Wind
- Night
- Seed
- Serpent
- Death
- Deer
- Rabbit
- Water
- Dog
- Monkey
- Grass
- Reed
- Jaguar
- Eagle
- Vulture
- Earth
- Knife
- Storm
- Sun
Each of these signs has its own thing, and when you mix it with one of the 13 numbers, you get a whole range of meanings.
After getting all this info, I started putting it all together. I drew out a circle and divided it into sections for the day sign and the number. Then, I started filling in what I learned about each part of my Galactic Signature. It was like piecing together a puzzle of who I am, according to the Mayans.
The whole process was a trip. It made me think a lot about myself and my life. Whether you believe in astrology or not, it’s a cool way to explore your personality and see things from a different angle. Plus, it’s a neat piece of history to dive into. I ended up with a chart that’s not just a bunch of symbols but a kind of map of me. Pretty wild, right?
So, that’s my story of making a Mayan astrology chart. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. If you’re into this kind of stuff, I’d say give it a go. It’s a cool experience to see how the ancient Mayans saw the world and the people in it.
