Okay, so, the other day, I finally got my hands on this deck I’ve been eyeing for a while – the Medicine Woman Tarot. I’ve always been kind of intrigued by tarot cards, but never really dove in, you know? But this one, it just called out to me. The artwork, the whole vibe, I don’t know, it felt different. So I thought, what the hell, let’s give it a go.
First thing I did was just look through all the cards. The imagery is amazing. You’ve got your typical Major Arcana, but they’re all reimagined with this beautiful, earthy, nature-inspired feel. Like, the High Priestess, she’s all in blue, just sitting there, hands in her lap, really calm and collected. It made me think of that Shekhinah thing, the divine presence.
Then you’ve got the suits – they’re not your usual cups, swords, wands, and pentacles. Instead, we have Stones, Pipes, Arrows, and Bowls. And the court cards! They’re called Exemplar, Lodge, Totem, and Apprentice. It all feels very connected to, like, Mother Earth and the natural world. It says on the box that it “honors Mother Earth and respects all beings,” and you can totally feel that when you look at the cards.
So after I got a feel for the artwork, I tried a few different ways of actually using them. I read somewhere that some people shuffle the deck and then spread them all out and just pick one that they feel drawn to. I tried that, and it was kind of cool. I picked the Hierophant card. It was a trip to look into. He’s supposed to represent, like, spiritual wisdom. I’m still trying to figure out what that means for me.
Another way I tried was just holding the deck and rubbing my hands over it, trying to feel the energy, you know? It sounds weird, but you can actually kind of sense a vibe from each card. I found myself drawn to a card from the Bowl suit. I think that it holds very much the Feminine vibration.
Here is my thought about how to use the cards:
- Shuffle and Spread: Give them a good shuffle, spread them out face down, and see which one jumps out at you.
- Feel the Energy: Hold the deck, close your eyes, and just try to sense the energy of the cards. See which one feels different.
Honestly, I’m still a total beginner with this. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. But it’s been a really interesting experience so far. It’s not just about predicting the future or anything like that. It feels more like a way to connect with myself, with nature, and with something bigger, I guess. I’m excited to keep practicing and see where it takes me. This deck just feels special, like it’s got a lot of wisdom to share, and I’m finally starting to listen.
I’ve heard the author’s latest creation called the Golden Fire Oracle. It looks pretty interesting. I might check that out next.
