Alright, so I’ve been seeing this “New Year Tarot Spread” thing all over the internet, and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, who doesn’t want a little sneak peek into what the new year might hold, right?
First things first, I got my tarot deck ready. It’s the classic Rider-Waite deck, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I gave the cards a good shuffle while thinking about the year ahead. You know, just trying to get my energy into the cards or whatever.
Then, I looked up a few different spreads online. There’s a bunch, but I decided to go with a 12-card spread, one card for each month. It seemed like the most comprehensive way to do it. The idea is you lay out the cards in a circle, like a clock, with January at the 12 o’clock position.
I started drawing cards one by one. For January, I got The High Priestess, the second Major Arcana card. I remember seeing somewhere that it’s all about intuition and hidden knowledge. Maybe it means I should trust my gut more this month, or maybe there’s some secret I’m about to uncover. It’s all a little bit of guess, right? I will do more research on that.
- January: The High Priestess
- February: The Lovers
- March: The Chariot
- April: Strength
- May: The Hermit
- June: Wheel of Fortune
- July: Justice
- August: The Hanged Man
- September: Death
- October: Temperance
- November: The Devil
- December: The Tower
I continued this for all 12 months, laying each card in its spot on the circle. I won’t bore you with all the details, but I also got The Lovers for February, The Chariot for March, and Strength for April, and so on. It was actually pretty fun, seeing all the cards laid out like that.
After I was done, I spent some time just looking at the spread as a whole. I also found that some people like to use a four-card spread for beginners. It is said that using this spread can help beginners to get into the tarot reading easily. Maybe I should have a try next time.
Honestly, I’m not sure how much stock I put in all of this, but it was definitely an interesting experience. And who knows, maybe there’s some truth to these cards. Either way, it’s given me some things to think about for the new year. Maybe I’ll even keep a little journal and see if any of these predictions come true. We’ll see!
My Reflection
It’s kind of cool to think about the year ahead in this way. It’s like setting intentions, but with a mystical twist. I’m not sure if I’ll become a tarot expert or anything, but I might just make this a New Year’s tradition. If you’re feeling a little bit lost or just curious about the future, I’d say give it a try. You might be surprised at what you discover.
